Organic Waste Innovations

-- Quote of the Day --  "Each time a person stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope, and crossing each other from a million different centers of energy and daring, these ripples build a current that can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance."   ~ Robert Francis Kennedy  -- Organic Waste -- I learned recently of an amazing innovation in the realm of composting organic waste that converts the waste into both liquids and mulch fertilizers for agriculture industries and gardeners to employ in their efforts to increase the quality of their soil. This new process - known as the Muncher - developed by Ecologico-Logic achieves a high-volume output  by combining mechanical efficiency with powerful, naturally occurring, aerobic microorganisms in a patent-protected process that greatly accelerates waste digestion, wit

Marketing, Website, Birds & More

-- Quote of the Day --  “The three furies of marketing – the first one is Humor, which is a distraction; Sex is a huge tool in marketing, and it is a matter of undermining our sexual adequacy our sense of attractiveness, and our gender identity. …Fear is the third one; fear is a huge motivator and marketers use it all the time. - So what happens to a whole society when they are constantly having these bullets (the furies) fired at them every 30 seconds? The society gets anxious, depressed, non-functional… we will react instead of responding intelligently. The problem with modern marketing is it has become trauma… we are traumatized by marketing, with devastating results.” ~ Lynn Serafinn Today's quote was excerpted from the Conscious Discussions Talk Radio show titled: Is Marketing Making Us Ill ? Of Pets and Behavior

-- Quote of the Day -- “So often we let the pain come through and the reflection of (how we were previously hurt) that moment rather than the love that we saw (in that moment as well). So I think it is important that we really consider whether we are making decisions based on how we were previously hurt or are we really giving life and opportunities a chance rather than thinking about what was or what couldn’t be. …So often as humans we tend to beat ourselves up something fierce about something we can’t do very much about, but it is so important for us to allow ourselves to just breathe …Now the question is – Now that we know …what are we going to do with that information? …Ask yourself  ‘How’s that (behavior) working for you?’. …How you are thinking and viewing a situation makes a world of difference.”  ~ Nathaniel Williams Today's quote orignates from the Conscious Discussions Talk Radio show titled: Reaching for Your Personal Best * Find the full d

Technology & Mankind

-- Quote of the Day -- "Think on this doctrine:  That reasoning beings were created for one another's sake;  That to be patient is a branch of justice,  and that men sin without intending it."  ~ Marcus Aelius Aurelius -- Positive News --  Technological advances in the transportation industry is happening almost daily, focusing on fuel conservation, alternative power sources, better efficiency, and even recycled content. Ford, for instance, is now able to  recycle 2 million plastic bottles annually in their new cars via the fabric they are now using, and are proud to use the fabric especially in the Focus Electric (gas-less) vehicle now being manufactured. They are also using soy foam, recycled resins and yarns in their efforts to become a green company. Honda, too, has committed to reducing emissions from their manufacturing sites by 30%... It is great to see these changes in the industry! Find Dave and Lillia

Nature & Science

-- Quote of the Day -- " It is an important and popular fact that things are not always what they seem. For instance, on the planet Earth, man had always assumed that he was more intelligent than dolphins because he had achieved so much - the wheel, New York, wars and so on - whilst all the dolphins had ever done was muck about in the water having a good time. But conversely, the dolphins had always believed that they were far more intelligent than man  - for precisely the same reasons ."  ~ Douglas Adams  -- New Bio-Mimicry Energy Resource -- Once again science is inspired by nature - often dubbed as bio-mimicry...  Toyota Central R&D Labs, Inc. (Toyota CRDL) announced on September 20, 2011, that it had succeeded in demonstrating an artificial photosynthesis process that, for the first time in the world, generates an organic compound  (Formic Acid) using only water, carbon dioxide (CO2), and sunlight… an exciting energy sour

Of Waste, Food & Soil

-- Quote of the Day -- “… many people are sensitive to sugar, fat and salt – especially in combination, as in fried potatoes – When we eat sugar, our brain produces feel good chemicals and takes away the painful feelings. …but what will happen is that the feelings will return because the blood-sugar will drop. …There was a study with two groups of rats who were fed sugar and cocaine – the ones that were feasting on sugar had a much more difficult time when they were detoxing, then the group of rats that were detoxing from cocaine. …As we age our metabolism will slow down a bit and Menopause will cause some body changes and we may feel like taking a nap a little more – but it doesn’t mean that you need to slow down. …Staying well hydrated and getting a good night sleep is more important than we may not realize. If we don’t get enough sleep, our bodies produce a hormone that causes increased hunger and another hormone that increases stress.  …Dehydration feels like h
