-- Quote of the Day -- “Ultimately, man should not ask what the meaning of his life is,  but rather must recognize that it is he who is asked.  In a word, each man is questioned by life;  and he can only answer to life by answering for his own life;  to life he can only respond by being responsible” ~ Viktor Frankl – Man’s Search for Meaning -- Conscious Discussions Talk Radio --    Sign up via itunes for the Conscious Discussions Radio show: http://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/id262138144    While expenses continue to rise for most American families; salaries have remained stagnant. Interviews

-- Quote of the Day -- “… You can find a lot of information about the company online, but I suggest that you also watch the business news to see what is going on that affects that industry. …Most people overlook the fact that the front-end personnel often report to the CEO, so ask them what their name is and call them by their first name, ask them what they feel about working there. …get to know the team players and maybe take them out to lunch and get the inside scoop of what it is like and tips on what you can do. …Establish a file; sometimes you get a boost in salary or you get nice complements or people you can use as a referral – then you are well prepared to ask for that promotion. …Never be afraid to apply to a job, don’t listen to people who are telling you that you’ll never get that job .” ~ Elinor Stutz * Excerpted from the Conscious Discussions Talk Radio show episode titled: Job Search/InterviewSkills http://www.blogtalkradio.com/con

-- Quote of the Day --   “When you get things out on paper and you take a look at them – first of all you get that clarity and secondly it gets it out of your head and when you see it on paper …it doesn’t seem so overwhelming, because when you keep things in your head they can get bigger, cause more stress, more anxiety. We can look at things on paper and realize they are not as bad as we thought. …Go back into present moment – What are you happy with now? What are you grateful for now? What do you have now? …My best friend had colon cancer and passed away at a very young age and so that really put things in perspective for me – we need to cherish who we are and what we have now – rather than beings so focused on what we don’t have and what is in the future, this empowers us – right now is when we have the power to create the life we really want. …Step out there; whatever it is that you are called to do - do it. …All of us can all learn what it is that we want to do if

Synthetic Dye

Synthetic Dye and Its Impact on the Environment By Sarah Yeoh  Since the accidental discovery of the first synthetic dye, mauve, made from coal by William Henry Perkins in 1856, the use of natural dyes begin to phase out. And why not? Synthetic dyes are more colour fast, have a wide spectrum of colours that can be easily and accurately reproduced, cost less and can impart qualities such as making the cloth wrinkle free or even having a permanent, fashionable crease. It does seem quite the novel invention but have you ever paused to think; just what you are wearing actually harms the environment? Let us take a look at the ingredients used for manufacturing synthetic dye. Synthetic dye is usually made from aniline or chrome. While dyes made from aniline are less poisonous than aniline on its own, we need to think how aniline can impact not just the environment but the workers involved in the manufacturing process. Aniline's level of toxicity is not known but i

-- Quote of the Day --  “ …We can create a habit of thinking more positively in our life. …When we focus our attention on our heart, and then think about someone we love or something we appreciate – these emotions shift the heartbeat; the heart sends a signal to the amygdala. Science has proven that we can change our physiological state by practicing this new habit. …This is also an anti-aging gift to yourself… it increases a hormone in our body called DHEA that helps us feel and look younger. …Taking care of yourself means you actually have more to give. If we take time out for ourselves we can accomplish more, we will be more energetic, more effective and function more efficiently. ” ~ Elizabeth Manuel ...on: Finding Happiness Find the full discussion with Elizabeth via this link below: http://www.blogtalkradio.com/consciousdiscussions/2012/02/05/finding-happiness -- Referral Corner -- It's been a while since we put together a Referral

Contest! - and animals

-- Quote of the Day -- “… An (animal rescue) hero to me is a volunteer who is using their precious time to save an animal… a person goes to the shelter and walk dogs as a volunteer, or they are out there feeding feral cats every day… or they transfer pets to one area or another, or make a donation like used towels to an animal rescue shelter… or a person who takes their furry family member to get spayed or neutered because they know that population control is important. …People can be what they call a part of the leg; they have organizations where they are looking for people along the way for transport… so it is kind of like passing along the baton, and they are always looking for people to drive an hour or more to be part of the journey (for the transport of the animal). …There are rescue centers pay for the costs of fostering, but a lot of centers have a limited budget and will only supply medical costs… however (in the US) foster parents can write off all the expense
