Green Spaces & Magic Buckets

-- Quote of the Day --

“I think one’s feelings waste themselves in words;
they ought all to be distilled into actions,
which bring results.”

~ Florence Nightingale

-- Green Cities --

Surabaya, one of the major cities in Indonesia with a population of over 3 million, is being transformed from a city surrounded by garbage into a beautiful green city.

They are doing this through the local green group - Pusdakota - who has introduced a way for utilizing ordinary bacteria in a container to break down organic waste in just a couple of days.

Citizens call this their “magical bucket”,  because it generates compost the people are encouraged to fertilize trees and plants in the city parks, streets, and gardens.
