Book Review !

A huge hug goes out to " Kiki W " who posted a review for our cookbook,  From One Small Garden - Over 300 Delicious, Nutritious Recipes .    5.0 out of 5 stars  The review titled  "Going Beyond A Basic Cookbook"  was posted on  Amazon.ca  (Canada) : "I have seen and used many cookbooks in my day, all of which, by definition have a variety of good recipes.  This one is quite different, for it includes lots of background info and explanation and useful tips, plus personal and familial stories.  It is especially useful for someone who has their own garden or who is a very careful and prudent shopper.  It feels like a social visit where old friends are swapping tips and tricks and recipe guidance over tea and crumpets. " *** Thank you so much Kiki for sharing this review of our cookbook on  Amazon.ca   - We really do appreciate it :)  Find the Brummet's Books @: https://www.amazon.com/stores/author/B0845RLK1X ~~~     Follow & Find Books:   on Amazon Vi

Quote of the day

" Today...   I remind myself that tomorrow is another day. I'm taking this journey one step at a time, doing things the best that I can with the skills and tools that I currently have at my disposal.  Today...  I will focus on positive energy, I will make sure that I do not let my mind fall into a state of negativity or self-criticism. I remind myself that rest, too, is important  - as is self-care.  Get more sleep, and fuel myself with nutritious foods, vitamins, & drinking more water.  For peace of mind I will take more strolls in the fields of flowers ."   ~ Lillian Brummet ~~~     Follow & Find Books:   on Amazon Visit:   Drum It With Brummet Blog Subscribe:   Brummet Media YouTube Channel   ~~~

Back In The Office

Back In The Office During a regular weekly Zoom meeting with a writer-friend, we were discussing the recent adventure Dave and I are on and how it affected the office, production schedule and content creation for our blogs and YouTube channel . Both Phyllis and I were sharing the feeling of just plain being overwhelmed with having so much to do and feeling so far behind.  The mind keeps cycling: "...where to start? Where to start?" Phyllis and I keep each other both comforted and motivated, simply by meeting once per week and sharing. Speaking with her about my weekly woes and joys helps settle my whirling mind a little and she's helped pull me out of the downward cycle of depression more than once. (Thanks, Phyllis!!)  The thing is that the "big picture" is loaded down with is such a large to-do list. From fencing and getting a lawn put in, to exterior painting, tons of office work, book publication schedules that were put on pause to accomodate this move.. p

Easy Green Living Tips

Easy Green Living Tips The most common mistake we make is not understanding exactly what is going on in our area in regards to waste management, recycling and take-back programs. The best thing to do is once ever couple of months assign a project to a staff member, or a grandchild when they are visiting - to double check and see what has changed in regards to the recycling and take-back programs in our region, because it is changing and improving all the time.  The city will have a website where you can find current programs listed. However, you'll need to dig a little deeper too.  There could be companies that have take-back programs that are not necessarily a part of the city's waste management programs.  Become familiar with your suppliers, retailers that you shop at regularly and learn what they are doing to be more sustainable.  Take the time to get to know your mechanic, friends with workshops, programs happening in the community to find out what they might need. - One pl

Business Owner Advice

Thank you for your patience while we transitioned to the new location and settled in. A lot has happened in just a short time from that moment in April when we tentatively queried a realtor about downsizing. By mid-May we had downsized our belongings, relocated the drum teaching/repair studio and moved in to our new-to-us "tiny home" living. We chose to do this in order to focus our energy on living life fully, projects in the to-do list and in preparation for the semi-retirement stage that we hope to obtain in the future. We also said "farewell" to our fuzzy cutie fur-kid Korma (in picture below)... as she had reached the appropriate age for letting her go. Yeah - that was a lot to take on and it happened super fast... right?! Faster than expected, that's for sure. However that was the situation and so we pivoted our attention from our publication schedule and action plan in order to focus on the tasks at hand. Well, the office is now set up and ready for us
