Alternative Energy & Gardening

-- Quote of the Day -- " The idea of perfect closes your mind to new standards When you drive hard toward one idea, You miss opportunities and paths, Not to mention hurting your confidence.  Believe in your potential and then go out And explore it; don't limit it ." ~ John Eliot - Author of Reverse Psychology For Success -- Conscious Discussions Radio -- Sunday Gardening #27 aired earlier this morning - the archive is now available for anyone to access or download and listen to. Today, I focused on Reuse, Hydroponics, and some brief accounts of Zones 1-5 including chores or harvests the gardeners in these zones will be facing right now. One listener in the chat room asked me about my method for making tomato sauce. Destiny & Fuel Cell Studies

-- Quote of the Day  -- " Destiny is not a matter of chance, It is a matter of choice. It is not a thing to be waited for, It is a thing to be achieved. " ~ William Jennings Bryan  -- Positive Eco-News -- A city in Southern Japan (Itoshima City) is a hydrogen town, where 150 residences and 2 apartment complexes are run by fuel cells. Their recent studies (over a 4 year period) revealed that they have reduced Carbon Dioxide emissions by 31 tons in just one year. The energy produced by fuel cells reduced the city's consumption of kerosene by 3,551 liters and 130,000 megajoules in their primary energy source... which I am pretty sure is coal. VOC's & Radio Interviews

-- Quote of the Day -- “ Paint is a bigger odor causer than the carpet in the home. If you keep the home closed tight the VOC’s will just stay there. …Watch out what you are using on a wood floor – because that will release a tremendous amount of VOC’s and respiratory irritants and you won’t know why you are having various symptoms, all you are doing is using a commercial product on your floor-gee what could be wrong with that? … Here’s what we are being sold: You go into a marketplace and they sell nail polish remover – which is acetone, it also dissolves lipids and fats – so we inhale this and it goes to the nervous system which is made up of lipids and fats… and it is absorbed from our skin. And then we wonder why we are so angry all of a sudden or something. This, to me, is along the same lines of insanity of buying a country fresh sent pesticide (which are designed to kill life – they are biocides) to provide fragrance for our home. …We have this implicit trust and so we mu...

Facing Fears & Loving Poetry

-- Quote of the Day -- "The Key to success if for you To make a habit throughout your life Of doing the things you fear." ~ Vincent Van Gogh -- Chatter -- Hi everyone! I'm back!!! My break from the office went very well - however I did return to over 300 emails and a long list of to-do's on the office schedule! Holidaying from the office for my 3-days-per-month is also a time of holiday'ing from the house... So Dave did the cooking and dishes, and the laundry and other chores got set aside for... well... now, I guess. :) As such, I'm a little behind on virtually everything today! Technical issues prevented us from having the computer and office in working order in time for today's Authors Read radio episode, however I'll work on rescheduling this episode later today. Apologies for the inconvenience.  -- Buy Poetry For Your Significant Other Month --   As promised, this blog will be celebrating B uy Poetry For Your Significan...
