Living Will). …These documents ensure that your estate stays out of probate, saving your beneficiaries lots of money – and should you become unable to take care of yourself (or your business) these documents ensure that there is a third party that can take care of your finances, medical issues, (children) and lifestyle choices.” ~ Marina Modlin Today’s quote originates from the Conscious Discussions Talk Radio episode that aired back on Jan 24… titled: Importance of EstatePlanning   (*Click on the title to access the full discussion) -- Conscious Discussions Talk Radio --    * Airs live @ 10-11 AM (Pacifc)  - all episodes are archived indefinitely within mom...

Product Review

-- Product Review -- Samantha Weinman, fashion media and marketing manager of American Apparel , first connected with me back on April 5 th re: reviewing their new sustainable line of clothing. Amazingly the products arrived just 6 days later on April 11 th , delivered to my door. Packaging consisted of one thick plastic shipping bag that contained 4 items – each item had a small brown paper label made of 100% recycled paper… both the paper label, shipping bag and even the small plastic tag attaching the label to the product are recyclable. All of their clothing is manufactured in the US, where environmental standards and employee rights are more stringent than other countries outside of North America. This also means that there is less fossil fuels spent in shipping the fabric to the manufacturer and then the product to the consumer. I was thrilled to find that the soft yellow hat and autumn orange sweater were made from pre-consumer cotton fibe...

Green Interview and Changing Lives

-- Quote of the Day --  --> “Every day I get up and say something amazingly awesome is going to happen today… I’ve always counted my blessings, I feel this is a very important thing to do – (being grateful for) something new every single day. …We will get out of life whatever we are looking for, so if we are looking for negativity that is what we are going to get. …Stop, take a deep breath and catch yourself as soon as you possibly can and push that reset button. …It takes discipline, it is kind of like training a puppy you have to keep taking it outside – you have to retrain the mind and keep showing it a different reality until that becomes the natural way you look at the world. …Some of the negative voices in our heads can be more harmful than any person else says to us. …the world is  abundant and infinite and strangely accommodating.” ~ Pam Grout Today’s quote originates from the Conscious Discussions Talk Radio episode that aired back ...

Positive News on Zero Waste and Water Conservation

-- Conscious Living Event --  April 18: Saskatchewan Waste Reduction Council Waste Minimization Awards Location : Saskatoon, Saskatchewan  Info : www.saskwastereduction.ca -- Positive News --  Many of you have heard me state that just by recycling alone we can easily reduce our waste stream by 30%, add in composting and you’ve increased that to 60%. Through donating unwanted items, and incorporating as many of the other R’s ( reuse and repurpose, reduce and rent, refuse) we can raise that number to 90%. Can you imagine putting only 10% of the waste stream on the curb? What a difference this can make in the world!  The thing that is so exciting about this is that it is so very do-able. Facilities and services already exist in most communities to make it possible. Once people get on board and show support through proactive participation, the system will grow to meet the rising demand, cr...
