quote of the day

"Whether we and our politicians know it or not,  Nature is party to all our deals and decisions.  And she has more votes,  a longer memory,  and a sterner sense of justice  than we do. Students help restore wetlands

Through Wildsight’s   EcoStewards program , the students took part in several field visits. First, the class visited Sullivan Creek in the Creston Community Forest , where they studied the characteristics of area trees and made connections to habitat, like wet, warm, dry and cold sites. They also learned about the trees and plants that are in their own school forest. In the next session, the class visited Summit Creek Park in the Creston Valley Wildlife Management Area . Poetry Time

This monthly blog post series celebrates the world of poetry, sharing one or two poems per post - featuring other guest poet's work, or our own. The poem Living Disease (below) was excerpted from the book Rhythm & Rhyme , one of the books in our Playing With Words series available, of course, on Amazon .  Living Disease There are too many children Walking the dirty streets Too many children With this living disease Where are the heroes? They’ve succumbed to cement. Where are the parents? They’re trying to pay the rent. When TV’s baby-sit And computers consume the rest Glued to cells and berries and pods And one more list to do. This use of knowledge  Is dumbing down our world. A lack of life skills Leaves minds in a whirl. Compliance to violence Shaking hands admit defeat Why don’t we stand up  To this living disease? © Lillian Brummet * This poem was written in November ’08 to the rhythm of a song I heard on the radio and that rhythm somehow became a catalyst for t...

“…You’ll never look at poetry the same way again… beginning with her childhood trauma and leading into her journey of finding healing and self worth. You’ll feel her anguish, anger, and finally, her recovery as you travel with her page by page.”  ~ The Robor Writing & Editing E-newsletter   ~~~   Discover the Brummet's Books on Amazon :  https://www.amazon.com/stores/author/B0845RLK1X  Find Them Online via :  https://taplink.cc/brummet  https://linktr.ee/LillianBrummet ~~~

3 types of follow up activities, Part 1

Today in the first of 2 articles on this topic we'll be discussing the 3 types of follow-up activities that every artist, entrepreneur or business owner should employ. Part 2 will be published on Nov 13th.  Some of our loyal readers may recall that we created a few videos on the Brummet Media Channel (YouTube) to help show others the value of taking the time to follow up. Now, keep in mind that the type of follow up you are taking on will depend entirely on what you are managing that month or that year. Perhaps that month you were reaching out to current and potential suppliers. The next month you might be doing a campaign to build on current connections. As such this article is to be used as a guide to help you develop the follow-up policy for your current situation.   Generally speaking, there are 3 types of follow-up: • Weekly • Monthly • Yearly The main rule here is to have a reason to reach out to your contacts without appearing as "spam" or annoying them. The...

Recommended Resources

The  Recommended Resources  series has been published on this blog since we transferred it from the Brummet's Muse biweekly newsletter that ran for 6 years or so, many years ago. When we closed it down, we decided that we just had to continue this series here on this blog and have been doing so now for over a decade.  With this series, Dave and I have the pleasure of sharing some great resources which can include - positive impact organizations and events, citizen science projects and links to helpful articles. Feel free to check out their websites, and perhaps send them a note of appreciation for what they do. It would, of course, be fantastic if you see a way to network with them or get involved some how, or possibly share their information with your networks. Open Gaits falls within the realm of therapeutic hiding on specially trained horses. This organization’s mission is to provide children and adults with disabilities the opportunity to experience all the physical,...

Quoted :)

Just a quick fun announcement: I was quoted in an article about resources for finding media appearance opportunities.  There are dozens of outlets that help people connect with these opportunities, and Katelynn Marfousi covers a few of them in this interesting article (below).  *Find my quote near the end of the article *  https://www.prezly.com/academy/the-best-haro-alternatives ~~~ Find the Brummet's Books @: https://www.amazon.com/stores/author/B0845RLK1X Find Them Online via: https://taplink.cc/brummet https://linktr.ee/LillianBrummet ~~~
