The city of Tokyo too is seeing the value of recycled metals and is now accepting electric circuit boards and hard disks from home appliances – And according to the article I read from JapanFS.org – they can now extract gold, silver, copper and rare metals including palladium from old appliances – not just office equipment and entertainment machinery, but also microwaves, electric fans… and even vacuum cleaners!
