Carol Brown just wrote me an email recently to let me know about the recommended resource (an article for writers) below... I thought some of you might find it of interest:

-- Conscious Living Event --

Today, June 12th, is World Day Against Child Labor - A very important conscious living holiday.

According to the International Labor Organization (www.ilo.org), this year's holiday occurs  "just one month after a major Global Conference on Child Labour is to be held in the Netherlands, the first event of its kind for more than 10 years."

The focus for this years events are:
  • Renewed urgency to tackle the worst forms of child labor.
  • Scaling up global, national and local level efforts by making action against all forms of child labor an integral part of poverty reduction, social protection and education planning strategies.
  • Building political and popular commitment to tackling child labor, with social partners and civil society playing a leading role in advocacy and awareness raising efforts."

 -- Positive Eco-News --

I read recently in the local Weekender newspaper that the Regional District of the Kootenay-Boundary (BC, Canada) has reduced its carbon footprint by 15 tons of greenhouse gasses!

They did this simply by reducing the kilometers by “scheduling efficiencies, meeting coordination, teleconferencing & anti-idling practices”.

Another fine example of how the little things that we do add up to a positive impact!
