Children's Author Interview

World of Writing - Children's Author Interview Today we have Matthew James as our guest, here to share some of his experiences writing within the children's genre. I hope to have him back to discuss his amazing entrepreneur experiences as well.  When asked how he would describe himself, this is what he said:  " I am a self published author, entrepreneur, vegan and dog dad living in the North East of the UK with my husband. I have owned a sweet shop previously, as well as an escape room and recently a vegan takeaway. I am creative, self motivated and determined to succeed. I have studied a national diploma in journalism and have always been interested in writing from a young age. I have self published a business book along with 3 books in a series named Skin Crawlers. This year I aim to finish a book aimed at adults. "  How cool is that?! Well we won't delay any longer, lets get right into the interivew with this fascinating author. Oh before we do, we'd like t

Recommended Resources

The  Recommended Resources  series has been published on this blog since we transferred it from the  Brummet's Muse  biweekly newsletter that ran for 6 years or so. When we closed it down, we decided that sharing resources was just too awesome not to continue. With this series, Dave and I have the pleasure of sharing some great resources which can include - positive impact organizations and events, citizen science projects and links to helpful articles.  Feel free to check out their websites, and perhaps send them a note of appreciation for what they do. It would, of course, be fantastic if you see a way to network with them or get involved some how, or possibly share their information with your networks. Trash Talk - It's Easy To Be Green 's new cover !!

Announcing a new book cover design... Trash Talk - It's Easy To Be Green  covers a lot of ground from explaining the recycling industry, sharing inspiring information, offering ways to reduce waste via reconsidering, rethinking, recycling, reducing, repurposing and other 'r's. Did you know that people benefit from trash? Well they do, and you can help your community so easily.  Did you know that Dave Brummet is the nephew of Tony Brummet , former environment minister. Cool, eh?  The Trash Talk series was inspired by a column we ran for about 6 years or so and because of this we earned acknowledgements and awards from many environmental organizations including the Recycling Council of BC , and a special letter from the premier of BC for being " community heroes ".  We certainly don't feel like heroes but it was really nice to get those awards.   Find The Series:  (US) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09YC64SB7 (USA) (Canada) https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/

Contributing and Benefiting (Part 2)

Contributing and Benefiting Part 2 Creston is a little city in the heart of the Kootenay Region (of BC Canada) surrounded by a string of small villages, large towns, and several medium sized cities with larger amenities just under 2 hours away. This is a popular area for tourists and being in the centre of this region we get a lot of travellers going from one city to another, back and forth.  The Kootenays plays host to many popular cyclist and motorbike events, large music and literacy festivals and classic car events in the surrounding area. In fact by watching and increasing our awareness we learned that the region tends to have dozens and dozens of events happening every single week - each with its own special focus and audience. Some will be run by non-profits or on behalf of those non-profits. Some will be created in an effort to support a local school, community garden or neighborhood park. Other events will be smaller yet - such a garage sale raising funds to support a family

book review !

A huge hug goes out to Elizabeth Gagnon  who posted a review for our cookbook,  From One Small Garden - Over 300 Delicious, Nutritious Recipes . ** She docked it one point because she preferrs pictures, but we felt it was more important to fill the book with content and keep the price of the cookbook down by excluding pictures out of the printing costs. Her opinion matters, and in fact our upcoming trilogy will be including pictures :) Interestingly, Elizabeth and I began networking in January '23, and I was invited to be a guest on her TEA Time podcast that summer. I hope to have her as a guest on this blog to talk about her entrepreneur and podcast experiences in the near future. It was a very nice to hear from her this fall when she created a post of Facebook sharing a picture of her new purchase: our cookbook! Today I'd like to share with you her review of that book :   4.0 out of 5 stars  Her review titled  No Pictures  was posted on  Amazon.ca  just recently (October 9,
