The  Recommended Resources  series has been published on this blog since we transferred it from the  Brummet's Muse  biweekly newsletter that ran for 6 years or so. When we closed it down, we decided that sharing resources was just too awesome not to continue. One of my favourite blogging activities is hosting interviews. Here, I get to interview publicists, retailers, marketing specialists, publishers, authors, podcast hosts, magazine editors, entrepreneurs.... and others. It is fun to be in a position to share their work here, but it has also been a great way to bond with them, get to know them better and strengthen networking ties. I want to talk a little bit today about developing a growth mindset - the mental ability to consciously choose to improve. In this mind set we want to learn, we yearn to be proved wrong so that we can no longer be mistaken. We want to be enlightened. We want to overcome the challenge or find an alternate route to our goal. This is the growth mindset. We don't mind putting in the work, taking the course, doing the research in order to make the new goal materialize. We put in the work knowing it plants seeds of change that if nurtured will grow into something special. Many of us are making resolutions to live more consciously, more proactive - to leave a legacy of positive change behind us. We have developed the need, the desire to see this in every aspect of our lives - not just at home, or just at work or as a consumer. The global culture has evolved with a renewed desire to know that we are creating change every day, every moment of every day.  Like many out there in this troubles

This monthly series began just over 2 years ago offering advice, tips, resources and marketing opportunities for our friends in the world of writing. Today we are continuing the discussion of utilizing 3 follow up activities and how this can be essential if your aim is to gain business success over the long-term. In Part 1 (published Nov. 4th) we discussed what the 3 activities are.  The next step is to ease the workload that yearly follow-ups require, and be ready to receive a lot of responses. By this I mean that if we have offered to introduce them to a contact we need to be ready to do so.
