Conscious Living

-- Quote of the Day -- "Never forget that life can only be nobly inspired and rightly lived if you take it bravely and gallantly, as a splendid adventure in which you are setting out into an unknown country, to meet many a joy, to find many a comrade, to win and lose many a battle." Annie Besant -- Positive Eco-News -- Wow! Finally someone has developed a bicycle generator! The system designed by Taiyo Denon Corp and Ito Kogy Development and Design companies - consists of 2 parts that are attached the rear wheel shaft and works in such a way that simply pedaling will generate electricity which is then stored in a specially designed device. The technology is apparently based on some wind-power generator and an electric storage device technology. *Source: Japan For Sustainability Org. -- Conscious Discussions Talk Radio Show -- Our featured guest will be: Jenny Craig - who has a background in neurology and psychology and has studied in nine different countries. Being a Part of the Whole

-- Quote of the Day --     " A human being is part of a whole - called by us, the 'Universe'... He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest -- a kind of optical delusion of his consciuosness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circles of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty." ~ Albert Einstein -- Referral Corner -- Check out these recommended resources: The Better World Shopping Guide : www.betterworldshopper.com  dedicated to providing people with a comprehensive, up-to-date, reliable account of the social and environmental responsibility of every company on the planet AND making it available in practical forms that individuals can use in their everyday lives. Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day everyone!  :) -- Quote of the Day -- “You may little suspect the fullness of someone’s character just from reviewing your memories. Your father’s character, say, goes on unfolding and you go on learning about him, from him.  He returns to mind in flashbacks and reveries.  As you age, and you become more like him, he often feels nearer. A glimpse in the mirror, a dish in the restaurant, a joke in an old movie and traits of his light up never having been noticed before.  Under scrutiny, the images reveal more and more …teaching still” ~ James Hillman

Bio-gas & Corporate Responsibility

-- Quote of the Day -- " Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying - 'I will try again tomorrow'. " ~ Mary Anne Radmacher -- Positive Eco-News --  Bio-gas is now becoming an option for Fortis customers in BC Canada. We now have the option of signing up to be notified when the renewable natural gas is available (made from Canadian farm waste and landfill off-gassing) – this is totally cool and I signed up for this right away. Apparently the amount will be limited to 10% of the content, but hopefully with consumer demand showing support it will grow to a larger percentage soon. According to their literature and their site, their staff have many community volunteer projects on the go all the time. It’s really amazing what their employees have accomplished. You Can Be a Catalyst

-- Quote of the Day -- " I am personally convinced that one person can be a change catalyst, a transformer of any situation, any organization. Such an individual is yeast that can leaven an entire loaf. It requires vision, initiative, patience, respect, persistence, courage, and faith to be a transforming leader." ~ Stephen Covey -- Referral Corner --  The Akanksha Foundation is a non-profit organization with the vision to one day equip all students with the education, skills and character they need to lead empowered lives.
