Clutter & Green Choices

 -- Quote of the Day --

"Great choices are made when we feel uncomfortable;
When our discomfort and our pain force us to find a new path.
We are forced to find another way to breathe,
And with that breath we can grow.
We become more than we were before."

~ Kara Emily Krantz

Many of our listeners are already aware of the book series Dave and I wrote titled – Trash Talk that talks about the five R’s of waste management but focuses on the Reuse aspect of the items we no longer need. While seeing that there is value left in something we have, doesn’t mean we have to hoard it and store it forever. Clutter can be a very damaging thing to our lives - we are going to learn how do deal with organizing our clutter and how to use color to make our homes more psychologically friendly. Our guest is DeAnna Radaj - Live at: 10-11 AM Pacific * chat room will be open for live listeners. *Show will be archived for those who cannot make the live broadcast:

Kudos to Solana Beach (California, US) - this area is currently looking at an ambitious project to green the community through the adoption of a new vision statement that embraces zero waste, zero emissions, and water-wise efforts. Their intention is to work toward several goals:

  • To become a zero-waste community by implementing land-use and policy making that reduces the use of especially toxic and long-lasting waste, like harsh chemicals and plastic
  • To become a zero-emissions community by supporting laws that aim to curb pollution
  • To become a water-wise community by capturing and reusing storm runoff and recycle non-potable water
  • Education programs that underline importance of environmentalism as a part of conscious living
