Green business & renovation tips - writing tip...

-- Quote of the Day --

March is Small Press Month and as promised I'll be sharing writer-related quotes and tips throughout the month of March here on this blog; Today's is taken from an interview with Katherine Scherer on the Conscious Discussions Show, which aired on March 17, 2008. The focus of this interview was embracing the power of gratitude in our lives, however as a published author Katherine was able to impart the following tip for writers:

“…What will the final cost of the book be? If they (publisher) cannot answer that question I would be hesitant to go ahead. Because books are priced by how many pages, etc and if you get your book priced to sell you are never (going to make a profit)… It doesn’t matter who publishes it, you will be the one responsible for marketing the book….”

When you are doing renovation or construction - and this applies to your business especially - be sure to post the environmental aspects to your project where the public can see them. By doing so you are stimulating discussion on green construction and interest in your business will accellerate - People really want to support businesses that are making efforts for a healthier planet. Because people are talking about your efforts, they will then be more inclined to consider green options in their own renovation projects... But most especially you will be directly influencing your competitors and others in the business community.

Earlier in the week I wrote a post that got a lot of responses from our readers - and I do appreciate all the wonderful comments I receive from the blog readers! So anyway, I thought I would share a few more interesting tid-bits that I found from the greenofficemakeover.com website:
- · American consumers receive 41 pounds of junk mail per year.

- · More than 100 million trees are destroyed each year to produce junk mail * our book, Trash Talk, shows ways on how to eliminate junk mail in a very short time.

- · Paper usage is rising by around 20% every year, with the average office worker using approximately 50 sheets of paper every day in the typical office.
