Transformational Living

I want to talk a little bit today about developing a growth mindset - the mental ability to consciously choose to improve. In this mind set we want to learn, we yearn to be proved wrong so that we can no longer be mistaken. We want to be enlightened. We want to overcome the challenge or find an alternate route to our goal. This is the growth mindset. We don't mind putting in the work, taking the course, doing the research in order to make the new goal materialize. We put in the work knowing it plants seeds of change that if nurtured will grow into something special. Many of us are making resolutions to live more consciously, more proactive - to leave a legacy of positive change behind us. We have developed the need, the desire to see this in every aspect of our lives - not just at home, or just at work or as a consumer. The global culture has evolved with a renewed desire to know that we are creating change every day, every moment of every day.  Like many out there in this troubles...

Perception & Circle Of Influence

I'm proud to share one of our most popular  Brummet Media Channel  videos today ! In this 10 min. video, we are taking a look at the individual's personal perception and circle of influence.  Our little window view is tainted by our mental state at the time, which then affects the level of awareness that we had at that moment.  So really, our view is just a tiny piece of the whole picture.  By growing our perception it is easy to see that what we do really does matter !  Watch it here: https://youtu.be/b9bT8cObIJc ~~~   Discover the Brummet's Books on Amazon :  https://www.amazon.com/stores/author/B0845RLK1X  Find Them Online via :  https://taplink.cc/brummet  https://linktr.ee/LillianBrummet ~~~

Making a difference

Green Families

Green Families  The Internet is a wonderful place and a powerful tool for today's society to teach children about the environment. There is no doubt that early influences can spark a lifetime of concern and participation throughout that person's life.  In today's schools and youth organizations, there are programs dealing with recycling, environmental health, litter awareness, gardening and ecology. Participating at home is possible too through  Social Science and Citizen Science projects that are offered through non-profits and educational institutions. For instance one program has volunteers going outside and counting how many of one species there are on a given day in a specific location. This information is valuable to ensuring their data is accurate.  There are plenty of other things we can do at home that can have an impact on our community - simply by looking at our "waste" as a resource.  Art classes make use of all kinds of materials that were formall...

Kudo's

Kudos !!  Today I'd like to feature a wonderful green business known as EarthEasy.com     Scroll down their website to see the many efforts they have made to green the world and be sustainable.  There are numerous pages on Eartheasy.com ; the gardening pages, composting, home-efficiency pages, food preservation, non-toxic home care, alternate energy, natural pest control, and family play activities come from over 40 years of past living experience. Other tips come from many hours in the library, on the web, interviewing experts in various fields, and from many site visitors who've contributed a wealth of information. https://eartheasy.com/sustainability/ Kudo's to them for the incredible work they have done to make the world a little healthier. ~~   Visit the Brummet's   Main Website Find them elsewhere online  HERE   ~~

Bored? Feeling Restless?

-- Feeling Restless? --  You may have seen the April 16th blog post re: using our time more proactively and positively during this crisis, or any life crisis really. Once you've browsed those great tips (see link above), here are some more: - Go through your business and also personal contact lists. Every business card, every person in your email, etc that you have some real connection with. Now is the perfect time to reach out to each of them with a little note of kindness, check in to see how they are, touch base to renew the relationship, offer some resource or set up networking opportunities for the future. Let individuals and businesses know what they have meant to you, how knowing them has benefited you, how you admire or are inspired by something they have done and offer some kind comment that may boost their mood.  - Perhaps creating custom song lists for your favourite connections is something you are into.  - Consider leaving gifts at a neighbour's ...

bored? looking for something to do?

You may have seen that I have been posting helpful tips on Facebook for filling the time we now have on our hands productively and proactively. You'll see all kinds of interesting posts on my timeline, but book for March 18  and 24th when I encourage people to pick up a book, March 19 when I encourage people to clean their environments thoroughly... March 21st offers a fun craft idea and both the the 22nd  and 23rd offer fun, educational websites for kids. March 23rd and  March 27 offered fun hand shadow puppet information.  I shared links to find tours, gardening videos, and literacy and learning resources here  and here  and here . Now is a great time to start getting organized too. I started with organizing my computer... going through each folder and deleting old and unnecessary data and organizing the rest. I put all the photos I had in 2 giant folders and have already deleted the obviously poor quality and duplicates. I sorted out a few cate...

Positive News As you already know, I'm always on the look out for inspiring happenings that I can share on this blog - there is so much good going on across the planet... and every single effort deserves to be celebrated! Those listed below... well, they are special.  -         Brazil has reduced the rate of deforestation by 70% in the last 10 years. It is also rehabilitating degraded land. -         Ethiopia is aiming to be carbon neutral by 2030 – they are investing clean energy, rehabilitation of land, planting trees and sustainable forest management. -          London - a city known as “smoke” and “smog” in the 1950’s because the pollution was so thick it was like being in a cloud of smoke - has become a city with clear, cleaner air enjoyed most days of the year.
