Just For Writers !!

Watch for a new post in this series around the middle of every month !! *Note: some of these resources go back as far as early 2000's and may refer to our old website and perhaps  other old links. Ignore those URL's, however the content in these are just so valuable and too good to miss out on. If you want to learn more about us go to: http://BrummetMedia.ca

Are you considering translating your work into other languages? It is definitely worth considering. There are many services out there offering help for authors and today I'd like to share with you one of our online friend's who specializes in Spanish-English editing and translations: Authors.Tradulibro.net is managed by Natalia Steckel and offers numerous opportunities for authors who have had their books translated to Spanish, or would like to. Natalia helps authors promote their books in Spanish, she does interviews with authors who have books translated into Spanish, or have their books edited in Spanish. She's very welcoming to authors in this genre and encourages our readers to connect with her at: http://Authors.Tradulibro.net

The After Show with McKensie Stewart and Amy Shannon is a spin-off program from the former internet radio show The Writer's Edge with McKensie Stewart.  This online talk radio show was created to help authors promote themselves and their work. I've listened to a number of episodes and I have found that this could be a very valuable resource for our readers. Here you will find writing advice from those within the literary world.   https://wetheaftershow.wixsite.com/home/welcome

The art of poetry was the topic of the day back in 2010 when we had Cheryl Kerr as our featured guest on our old talk radio show (no longer on air). *This episode refers to our old website, ignore that.

This next link will take you to a World of Writing interview that we featured on our blog back in 2011 with Linda Faulkner, author of at least 4 books (probably more by now) and she shares how she started writing, how she uses it to make a difference in the world and more.

-- Quick writer tip # 1 --

Be tenacious.

For example: A period of time has passed since you sent that query out to Mrs Blogger and no reply has arrived - you are wondering if it arrived ok, if it ended up in her spam or got lost in the mass of messages she had coming in, or if she saw it but forgot about it. Should you write again? Yes. After 3 months have passed without a response start with a good scan through your social networking message centres, texts, emails etc. paying special attention to the trash and spam folders. Once you are sure there has been no response, and at least 3 months have passed by, it is perfectly fine to send a brief message stating that you are just checking in to see if she had a chance to peruse your message. Be sure to include the previous message below the email signature, or at least include the date that you first contacted her, so that she can refer to it easily. It is ok to be respectfully tenacious.
