Wind farms are hardly new, and while the industry has faced a myriad of challenges, it has also risen to face them head on with innovative solutions.

There are many on shore wind farms, some that share farm land, others that operate over infertile ground... and now, we see floating wind farms offshore. 

Just a few years ago in Scotland the world's first floating off shore wind farm was established, in depths up to 80 m. - providing enough renewable electricity to power over 50,000 buildings. 

It will certainly be interesting to see where alternative energy industries will take us next :)
