World of Podcasting - Interview

World of Podcasting - Interview

Endre Hoffman and I met via a networking event back in early 2023, and we have been happily networking and supporting one another ever since. Endre is a genuinely compassionate person who's underlying drive is to help business owners and leaders who experience a lack of confidence, self-doubt, are exhausted and feeling overwhelmed. His aim is to remove the struggle from their mind so they achieve confidence and peace within.

"I reconnect them to their authentic leadership and naturally high self-worth", he explains.

His podcast is a way for him to extend his services to the general public. Listeners regain a new sense of self-talk, self-image and they are encouraged to tap into their true genius and purpose. His guests share their experiences during transformational times in their lives, offer amazing advice and tips. Through sharing their stories Endre is consciously, proactively changing the world by helping others expand their views and inspiring them to make a difference.

Q: Welcome to the Brummet's Conscious Blog, Endre! You and I met recently for the recording of my interview on the Dr Of Self Worth's Heroes Podcast and I was so comfortable chatting with you that I found myself really opening up much more than I usually do. I'm curious... When did you get the idea to launch your own podcast?

A: About 3 years ago, I realized people with self-worth challenges need to hear more transformational HERO stories.

Q: You are right, I believe that there is way too much negativity spread around and by shedding light on the amazing, positive aspects you are able to show that the world is not as dark as it appears, giving people hope. There is so much more positive things happening, positive people, positive stories than we realize. It is awesome that you help bring that to people's attention.
There are a lot of folks out there starting their own podcast or have wanted to, but are struggling along the way. What can you tell us about how did you began?

A: I recorded the first session on Zoom. It was not very professional.
Probably 18 months later, I redid all the thumbnails and I have properly
endorsed them with my logo and The Heroes Podcast branding. Since then it had lots of views and reviews on Google.

Q: That is an interesting example of how imagery and branding are very important. Hosting a podcast eats up quite a bit of time... and so there must be a reward in it for you. Why does this podcast matter to you?

A: I love talking to people; I was aiming for a speaking career so I used it as a training ground. I get views between 20-600 on each episode or about; they vary depending on the guest - who are expected to share the episodes, because the episode sets them up as an authority on their topic.

I do not earn money...theoretically, I charge $49 dollars for people who are not in a podcast swap deal or involved in networking with me in some way. ...the podcast is very relevant and complementary to the self-worth transformations that I provide daily in groups and 1-on-1.

Each of these transformational stories has 3 distinct parts:

  • Old self = struggle, pain, trauma, difficulties, etc.

  • Breakout = What has helped the person to break out of their old life

  • New Identity = contributing to the world by serving people, businesses or the planet via a personal brand while living on one's terms

...this is the authenticity I offer to all my clients and this podcast nurtures that. I feel it eases the trauma deep in their souls and begins building the beliefs that "it" is possible.

Q: What is your favourite task involved with your job as the host? Doing the interviews where I can dive into my guest's psychology.

A: I uncover what happened in his or her past that had put them on a path to eventually becoming one of the heroes in our world.

Q: Earlier, you talked about imagery and branding... can we go back to that for a moment? What kind of theme, colors, images do you use on your media?

A:
As you can see by the images we shared here in this interview for Youtube and Spotify.... the images are made with my brand colours.

Essentially, the podcast is tied to the Doctor of Self-Worth brand so it was to set up to attract attention and give hope to people who are looking for their power.

I did get help from a Marketing Specialist from London, Chris Bantoch.

Q: That is great you found someone to ease that chore, sometimes outsourcing can be very helpful in fine tuning ideas into an effective tool. How do you manage content?

A: I work with a small team and dedicate about 2 hours per week. Interviews are recorded via Zoom, and get uploaded to YouTube and Spotify. My team creates thumbnails then they get shared via my Socials, channels and email list.

Q: That sounds like an effective, efficient way to get the word out about each episode. Are there other promotion activities that you have found helpful?

A: Well, I share episodes with all my clients, post on my Social channels and email list. One way that I promote the podcast is to regularly participate in podcast swaps (exchanging interviews on each others podcasts) which expose me to new audiences. With some of them, we connect so much we catch up regularly to create Self-Worth related content, short videos, etc.

Q: Can you share some information about podcasts or hosts that you look up to?

A: I look up to Joe Rogan and Oprah.

Q: What encouraging advice or problem solving advice could you offer to
other hosts?

A:
  • Keep doing it
  • Improve gradually
  • Never stop learning and growing into doing it at a new level

Q: What do you look for when it comes to guest queries or networking
opportunities?

A:  I am looking for people who have an established social media presence
with an attitude of giving, like I do.

Values like:
  • Freedom
  • Fun
  • Family
  • Are connecting with me
  • Have a generous attitude

I do not hold people to what they promise I take them on Face value... a
few takers filter, through.

Q: Right, there is always that issue of finding people who genuinely wish to provide valuable content, who are looking for long-term networking relationships. It is a common complaint - that guests do not follow through or promote their published piece, which always makes me shake my head. I've actually been invited to do presentations on the topic of what to do with a media appearance, and did a few Youtube videos on the topic too. So you talked about growing into the hosting experience... how have you gone about perfecting the hosting experience?

A: Everything is detailed on the sign-up Google form. I am completely OK if someone changes mind or does not complete the form - it means they have disqualified themselves from my stage. I want people to understand how Self-Worth is shaping lives and attaining results in every area of life. If they do not get this, they could be working hard for decades and get nowhere... like I did.

Q: Interesting! ...providing all the information a guest needs on the sign up form and using Google to manage that has helped you weed through the submissions.  How do you go about prioritizing tasks?

A: I make full use of my calendar.. when the release for the new podcast episode is imminent, it gets high priority.  I constantly pay attention - and learn... I am lagged with AI... but I have been trying Youtube optimization recently, and I rely on Zoom for recording.
