-- Product Review --

Chris Jorgensen, Co-Founder Earth's Pearl Supplements, first connected with me in early June; the product arrived sometime after or around July 7th I'm not sure of the exact date it arrived, however it was there for us when Dave visited the US postal service on his next trip which was July 11th.

As you can see by the images below the white plastic (#2, recyclable) bottle came with a serrated clear plastic safety seal around the cap, ensuring the integrity of the product while easing the removal of the seal. After taking that seal off and unscrewing the cap, I found a 2nd safety seal that easily pealed off the top of the bottle. Inside were a small bat of cotton (compostable, shred into small pieces first) and a moisture prevention envelope that should be removed after opening. The cap has a nice dispensary hole that I thought was a very nice touch, enabling me to flip it open and just tap out a pill instead of having to unscrew the cap and pour out into the palm of my hand. As you can see from the image with the dime and pill beside each other below, the pill is very small and round – very easy to swallow.

My bottle had a manufacturing date of June 2015, but did not have a “use before” or shelf-life date information – except that it does needs to be stored in a cool, dry place. Each bottle contains 60 pills, the company calls them “pearls” – just take one little pearl anytime during the day for regular maintenance. For people needing a little extra, the company suggest taking up to 3 pearls a day.

Ingredients include:

Lactobacillus acidophilus, lactobacillus plantarum, lactobacillus reuteri, bifobacterium infantis, bifobacterium lactis, fructooligoasacharides prebiotic, microcrystalline cellulose, hydroxypropyl methulcellose, pectin, stearic acid, sodium carbonate, guar gum, turmeric.

Warnings are: pregnant or nursing mothers, people with medical conditions should always consult a physician before taking supplements. Do not exceed the recommended dose. Keep out of reach of children, however this supplement is safe and effective for adults and children.

Earth’s Pearl probiotics proudly utilizes 2 science-based patented technologies that will keep the probiotics alive in pill format for up to 18 months without refrigeration while other brands usually require refrigeration and have a short shelf life span.  The company ensures that the probiotics will be protected through the stomach acid so that it can arrive where it needs to be in the digestive tract. Their product is safe for humans of all ages from toddler and up. Their all-natural product is GMO-free, vegetarian and free of gluten, lactose, wheat, soy, eggs, shellfish, tree nuts, chemicals and artificial ingredients.

Here’s an interesting fact for you:

Did you know that “70% of your body's immune system is found in the gut wall (as they call it) according to Johns Hopkins Medicine”?

 (*quoted from company’s product information)

Probiotics help the body produce and absorb Vitamins K and B, along with other vitamins and nutrients, in your digestive system. They help relieve most of the common digestive issues ranging from IBS, to lactose intolerance, oral health and allergies. They even help combat side effects of antibiotics. Healthy digestive tracts have “good” bacteria that reduce constipation, bloating, gas, diarrhea and fight infection and disease.

The company was co-founded by Chris Jorgensen around 2007 and their product is made in the US and distributed via LuvUrGut LLC based in Central Point, Oregon (US). The company also offers a 365-day satisfaction guarantee. Visit their site EarthsPearl.com to learn more or sign up from their newsletter.

Earth’s Pearl Probiotic had an original list price of $68.74, which was slashed to $49.37 - but it is currently on sale for $21.87 (US) on Amazon.com
You can also find it on Amazon.ca with a list price of $64.99 (CDN)
