A Different Perspective
In life, in business, in relationships - we hear our inside-voice tell us that we did not do enough, didn't react in a positive way; we see those mistakes over and over again in our mind's-eye. We are told that all that stumbling along that we did was really just growing pains - that we wouldn't be the person today without them. Our logical mind easily acknowledges that mistakes make us more aware, and that makes us better people. All that rings true but forgiving ourselves, like letting go of the guilt, not repeatedly reminding one's self of them. That is another issue - isn't it. It is worse still, if we feel that we failed at something. But often, our efforts were not in vain at all.
Here's a quote that may help us all remember to view our mistakes from a different perspective:
" F. A. I. L. means: First Attempt in Learning.
End is not the 'end', in fact it is: E.N.D - Effort Never Dies
If you get 'No' as an answer, remember that N. O. means: Next Opportunity.
...so, let's be positive. "
~ A.P. J. Abdule Kalam
Coming up I'm going to have a discussion on this blog about home-based and self-employed arena of this topic - feeling like one's efforts were failures.
