World of Writing - Author Interview

Q: Hi Michael, welcome to the Brummet's Conscious Blog ! One look at your page on Amazon shows that you have quite a few books under your belt so far. How do you plan to promote all these books?

A: I plan to promote on social media and word of mouth. Chess Moves 2 is going to be big, and I know many people are expecting this second book. This series will make sense once people read this new one.

Q: Is there anything in this series that is based on a real life experience?

A: Yes, there are many things that are real life experiences. I have characters in this book that will surprise people. The event can also be real life. People will be able to relate to this concept. I know people will be able to understand what Lamont is going through and take this ride with him.

Q: Why did you feel this needed to be written?

A: I always wanted Chess Moves to have a part 2. Even when I was writing the first one, I had that thought. I always wanted to do a series and I have one now. My poems are always going to be timeless, but this story Lamont goes through needs to be heard.

Q: If you didn't choose to write, what would you have done instead?

A: Great question.

I think I would be a lawyer.

Writing is my self expression. I love writing stories and they mean the world to me.

I would be a lawyer because I would represent so many stories.

I would be able to say things and do research through my voice.

Q: When starting a book project do you choose the title first, or does that come later?

A: I always choose the title first. The title gives me life. I try to have that title there so I can build and write off of the title. I try to come up with unique names that relate to real life.

Q: What is the wisest thing anyone has said to you?

A: The wisest thing anyone has said to me was what my brother Mark told me. He said:

"Do what you love and everything else will fall into place".

I keep writing, I keep having ideas, and I keep praying. He always says if I keep writing then I will be OK. Those words mean allot to me.

Q: What is the important role that writers play in today’s world?

A: We play a very important role. Most of the movies are made from books. Many people write down thoughts and feelings that help people.

Writing can save lives.

Now in 2023, many people are reading and looking at writing memes for inspiration.

It is beautiful to see the love that us writers are getting. ...Writing is my passion and I love inspiring others.
