Here is a link to a fun interview I was asked to take part in recently. There's a couple glitches - a sentence was cut and a response was repeated... but it is still a fun interview to read.  - let me know what you think of it and feel free to share it with your author friends.  Lots of links to our activities at the end of this interview: https://mybookplace.net/author-interview-lillian-brummet

World of Writing - Author Interview

World of Writing - Author Interview Phyllis Chubb and I were both students of the same course, and in one of their webinars' chat room we got to know each other better. When we learned that we were both starting similar projects and that we are both from BC (Canada) - it was easy to start networking with her. Later on our relationship developed into friendship - and we now meet weekly for a friendly chat about what each other have been up to. I always look forward to those meetings because we really support each other and I'm motivated to do the tasks I said I was going to do before the next meeting. I was super stoked therefore to feature Phyllis here today, so we can all learn more about her writing experiences. Phyllis says her first word was likely: Why . “ Why do people act the way we do ”? Her analytical and inquisitive mind led her to delve into years of study and ultimately a master’s degree in human relations and a career in community counselling and psychiatry. These ...

Children's Author Interview

World of Writing - Children's Author Interview Today we have Matthew James as our guest, here to share some of his experiences writing within the children's genre. I hope to have him back to discuss his amazing entrepreneur experiences as well.  When asked how he would describe himself, this is what he said:  " I am a self published author, entrepreneur, vegan and dog dad living in the North East of the UK with my husband. I have owned a sweet shop previously, as well as an escape room and recently a vegan takeaway. I am creative, self motivated and determined to succeed. I have studied a national diploma in journalism and have always been interested in writing from a young age. I have self published a business book along with 3 books in a series named Skin Crawlers. This year I aim to finish a book aimed at adults. "  How cool is that?! Well we won't delay any longer, lets get right into the interivew with this fascinating author. Oh before we do, we'd like t...

Small talk is often irritating because it just doesn't mean anything. No one is enlightened. Nothing has changed. It feels like wasted time... I thrive on deep conversations, drilling into emotional territory, striving to understand, breaking my own mental barriers and habitual reactions. I was having a deep conversation with Gary and Kiki Towne recently when Gary asked us if we knew what a Fixed Mindset and Growth Mindset was.  He soon enlightened us with their definition: A Fixed Mindset varies from person to person but basically the mindset is one where the individual sees their situation, mental capacity, education, impact, etc is fixed - it will never change, they will never move from that spot, that mind set, that career or that relationship.  A Growth Mindset is open to change, is ready to be proved wrong, to make mistakes to gain clarification and understanding. This mindset leads to awareness, conscious action, and striving to create a positive impact.  There ar...

For quite some time I found myself pausing to grasp at words that could embrace the impact this discussion I had with Benjamin Diaz, host of the Your Lot And Parcel #Podcast . How to express the smooth, comfortable flow of this 47 min. conversation?  How to share the depth of the joy I felt during the discussion, and while listening to it much later upon publication?  How amazing it felt to talk with someone who aligns with our passions?  A sincere note of appreciation goes out to Benjamin Diaz for making the experience so comfortable.  I hope you have time to check it out:   https://www.buzzsprout.com/1206776/12540408 ~~~   Discover the Brummet's Books on Amazon :  https://www.amazon.com/stores/author/B0845RLK1X  Find Them Online via :  https://taplink.cc/brummet  https://linktr.ee/LillianBrummet ~~~

Our long time online writing friend of some 20 years or so Donna Sundblad invited us for an interview on her Book Hookup Blog recently. Donna, in fact, runs several blogs. In between managing those, she is also a published author and a book reviewer. That's one busy gal!  Dave joins us in this discussion, which is always a rare treat - as I'm usually doing media appearances on my own.  His insight into imagery, graphics, web maintenance and drum teaching are fantastic.  Check out the interview @: https://bookhookup.blogspot.com/2023/03/interview-with-authors-lillian-and.html  ~~~   Discover the Brummet's Books on Amazon :  https://www.amazon.com/stores/author/B0845RLK1X  Find Them Online via :  https://taplink.cc/brummet  https://linktr.ee/LillianBrummet ~~~

World Of Writing - Children's Author Interview

World of Writing - Children's Author Interview Today we are joined by children's author Maureen Young. She and I met almost a year ago, about the time that I had begun the task of reaching out to connect with writers within the Kootenay region of BC - Canada... (Remember the film "Roxanne" with Steve Martin? It was filmed in one of the small cities within the Kootenay region). As it happens, Maureen happens to live in the same city as us. Anyway I had started the Monday Writers Meet-up event (via Zoom) where we could all network, find mentors (or become one), ask questions etc. Maureen was one of the regular attendees for a while there. Recently, Dave and I found that we had to divert our attention elsewhere and I no longer run that group. However this led to me getting to know Maureen on a deeper level - to witness, and sometimes offer advice, her journey to publication. Today we get to honour that friendship by featuring our writing friend here today.  Here is a di...

It was such an amazing experience being featured on Andy's Personal Development   Podcast . Andy is also a speaker and coach based in " The Twin Island Republic of Trinidad & Tobago " regions. It's been pretty amazing to travel the globe through being a featured guest on podcasts based in Canada... just a few miles away in fact, and then off to England, New Zealand, Australia, and now, Trinidad. ...I guess I sidetracked a bit there... but I am truly excited about sharing this interview with you today.  Andy brought up some amazing awards we received and I got to relive the experiences those brought us in this discussion.  He delved into lots of deep topics, flowing easily from conscious business, to creating positive change, to having a positive mindset and back to business advice to close the interview. Andy Charles is definitely a gracious person who makes his guests feel really special :) You can find the #interview: On the Brummet Media Channel 's " ...
