Niteo Africa Society: works to build and nurture community libraries by shipping gently used books to Africa. They train literacy leaders from elders to parents, community leaders to teachers. They have an ongoing project offering literacy and learning open-source listings for the people they serve. They also have a great project locally (Okanagan Region of BC Canada) offering many literacy and family programs for newcomers and refugees. https://www.niteo.org

Also based in the Okanagan Region of BC Canada, The Okanagan Fruit Tree Project is a registered charity that encourages volunteers to grow and harvest fruits, vegetables and nuts through produce rescue program - sharing the harvests among volunteers, schools, community organizations, hunger and food insecurity programs. www.FruitTreeProject.com
