Positive Living

-- Quote of the Day --

"The only disability in life is a bad attitude."

-- Positive Living --

I've often heard people stating that there is little hope for humans - but I beg to differ. I have taken the other view. I believe that change is already happening and I see it every day. Take for instance the fact that no one even heard of recycling anything beyond newspapers, glass and returnable beer and wine containers when I was growing up and very few people actually did it. Today recycling, reuse, repurpose, rent, reduce, and so on are common language and are being enacted by a growing number of people every single day. It is a part of life now. Cities are getting greener, there are green living initiatives and rebates available, new technologies are being invented, greener cars, greener buildings... knowledge abound. There are huge movements going beyond organic into sustainable, and beyond sustainable to regenerative permaculture in every aspect of human society. I see it everywhere and it thrills me to the bone.

You know really simple acts like we talk about in our Trash Talk series makes a huge impact on an individual basis. We show the measurable results, and the immediate benefits for the individual as well. Gardening for instance provides food, reduces fossil fuels associated with your menu plan, saves money, is more nutritious, less work as you no longer have to mow and tend to lawns every week. Eating a little less meat or smaller portions of meat has a major impact on the environment. Composting... recycling, donating... I could go on and on and on about individual actions that are so easily done.
I encourage you to check Trash Talk out, purchase a copy for yourself or someone you know - you not only benefit from a lot of positive, proactive, money saving information but you'll be supporting what we do as well, and we also donate 10% of everything the Brummet Media Group earns including book sales to charities, such as land conservation, wildlife rehabilitation, animal rescue/shelter, wetland, and garden seed saving projects.
So do consider purchasing a copy to learn more about what you can do to make this world better while saving money and sometimes earning a little extra money too... and at the same time - making your community a better place as well.
