Kudos to the city of Calgary (Alberta, Canada)! 

According to the Recycling Product News magazine, there is a pilot composting project going on in that city -  collecting organics from 7,500 residents in four areas in the city. 

In just 16 weeks they’ve collected 710,000 kilograms of organics, while garbage was reduced by 40% compared to the rest of the city!

What a fantastic example of what can be done simply by composting!
