Upbiotics Advanced Probiotics supplement
is a wonderfully powerful digestive supplement offered by 100Naturals.com I
first spoke with their agent - Erin - around April 30th and we had
it ordered in for delivery on May 1st – it arrived at the border
postal service provider (we live a couple miles off the border on the Canadian
side) on May 9th. As such, however, we have had several weeks to try
this product out.
I
have often had a supply of probiotics in the home even though we generally
consume plenty of yogurt, cheese and cottage cheese (naturally rich in
probiotics), because occasionally one of us feels a little bloated, gassy or
constipated… and that is when we start taking a supplement for a week or two
until we feel better. I had a small amount left of our older supply and so I
compared the two labels to see how they measured up and found this product
definitely has more diverse and a greater number of beneficial bacteria (11.5
billion) including L. acidophilus, L. rhamnosus, L. plantarum, L. Casei, B.
longum, B. breve and B. subtilis.
Probiotics,
in case you aren’t already aware, are the good bacteria that play an essential
role in the digestive and immune systems of the human body. It speeds healing,
prevents the spread of infection, controls yeast and candida, and offers relief
from allergies, gas, bloating and constipation.
The
natural ingredients are balanced and housed in a “controlled release capsule”, a
patented technology, which ensures the supplement gets to the body in the most
efficient way possible.
I
also learned some interesting facts from the company:
-
Bacterial cells in the normal human
flora outnumber the human cells in our bodies by about 10 to 1.
- Gastrointestinal (GI) tract is responsible for 80% of the immune system health.
- Overdosing probiotic bacteria can be as bad as lacking sufficient probiotic bacteria in the GI track and causes gas, bloating, cramp, constipation, lethargy, and depression.
- Bringing balance to intestinal flora can:
(a) Promote daily relief from allergies, gas, bloating and constipation;
(b) Improve digestive health;
(c) Improve immune system;
(d) Help control weight;
(e) Improve mood and energy level.

The
solid white plastic (#2) container and twist off cap is recyclable. Each bottle
offers 60 clear vegetable capsules with an off-white colored powder inside;
they are narrow in shape and a little under ¾ inch in length. Directions are to
take 2 pills per day with food and the warnings are to not exceed the dosage,
keep out of reach of children and is packaged in a facility which may also
contain common allergens (shellfish, nuts, etc.). The company itself is based
in Wilmington, Delware (USA), and they offer several health supplement products
including enzyme, joint support, thyroid support and more.
When
I tried to find out more about the company I noticed several areas on their
site is still in construction… i.e. their about us page has information on what
that page is for, as opposed to what the company is about – which is too bad as
I always do extra research on the companies in my reviews to find out about any
socially responsible, environmental, charitable and other conscious business
endeavors they may be apart of.
They company,
however, offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee – you can return the products you
have purchased from them within 100 days of purchase date and they will refund
you. The
product sells for $24.95 (US) on their site. On the Amazon.com site it has a
list price of $30 (US), but is currently on sale for $21.45 – however it is not
listed on Amazon.ca
