This is the fourth and final installment in this particular series of articles.
Earlier in August I was inspired to create a 4 part article series offering thought-provoking steps to developing your business and creating an effective marketing plan. This series is, in fact, based on the first section of the Purple Snowflake Marketing book of ours - I'll share more info about the book at the end of this piece.
Today I'll be sharing a few more homework assignments for you to continue this journey.
Extra Homework Assignment #1:
Schedule a one-hour session per week and use that time to begin scrolling through the Brummet's Conscious Blog archives to find interviews with entrepreneurs, marketing experts, authors, poets, bloggers, podcast hosts, publishers, agents ...and many others. Each interview will offer insight, resources, advice, tips that could benefit you.
Might as well learn from the experts, right?
For those involved in the writing industry, look for the Just For Writers blog posts that are published around the middle of every single month and are archived for your convenience. Each Just For Writers post offers well over a dozen resources for you to check out.
If you look to the side bar area of the blog you'll see a list of places to find Dave and I online. Which leads into the next assignment:
Extra Homework Assignment #2:
The next Assignment is to browse the Brummet Media Channel when you can concentrate, have no distractions and are ready to relax, learn and take notes. There you will find 100 videos (or more) ranging from 14 min down to less than 2 min in duration. There is a ton of valuable content there including answering questions submitted to us - and you can submit your question too! You'll see samples of book, blog and business trailer videos that we've created. Numerous videos have been created offering entrepreneur, networking and marketing advice. In fact we just added another playlist for home and garden genre topics. Be sure to show your support - share, like, subscribe to the channel - it is free.
Breakdown of the homework assignments in this series:
Remember - one step at a time. Steadily, systematically do the homework. Set time in your schedule for this.
1 - keyword phrases about you
2 - keyword phrases about your book(s)/writing career
3 - direct & indirect contact list
4 - begin writing to each contact & creating talking points for keyword phrases
5 - Browse the content available Brummet's Conscious Blog and the Brummet Media Channel
2 final steps...
6 - Once you've done the homework assignments, you are ready to sign up for these services below and receive media opportunities in your inbox:
PG: PodcastGuests.com
HARO: HelpAReporter.com
RGL: RadioGuestLlist.com
SB: TheSourceBottle.com
These are great resources to sign up to that will email you the current list of various media radio show hosts, podcast hosts, reporters looking for sources, publications looking for articles, etc. To find more media opportunities, search online for blog or podcast directories - there are millions of them.
And now as promised the final resource I want to share is
Purple Snowflake Marketing - How to Make Your Book Stand Out In A Crowd (revised May 2021) What we discussed in this series of articles was just the first chapter of this 300 page book.
This step-by-step guidebook for authors shows a realistic view on what an author can expect upon publishing a book and how to make a memorable first impression. Learn from the experience of seasoned writers, be inspired by effective advice and discover quotes from PR experts to coaches and agents. Learn how to promote any service, product or book that you produce in your career like a pro. Run the office efficiently, discover business operation, succession planning and tax tips, too.
