Maintaining our media page is an annual task that has a lot of nostalgia for me. I like to, at this time of year, highlight some of the ones that had an impact on me. I hope you enjoy them too...
Brenda, of ASwiftt Radio, asked me: "In your opinion what is the most cost effective marketing method that people with very little money could use?"
"Ok press releases, doing some promotional articles - and by promotional articles I mean you are writing about a topic, you are not selling yourself.
You write on a topic that is print-worthy and it is something you give to blogs and newsletters and other publications - but the reason why you do that is the article is also published along with your byline which has your bio and links to whatever you are wanting to promote at that time with that byline in that article to that audience.
You need to have at least 13 of those types of articles and a few completed interviews before you even approach the media.
All of that is free. And you can go to article distribution sites and upload your articles to get attention from a variety of publications who will find your articles there.
...Also make use of your local bulletin boards, an often over-looked old-school underground, grassroots type of marketing.
There's ways of making your free and frugal marketing much more effective by looking at each step carefully."
