Podcast Host Interview

Tracey Cirino, and her producer Tony Viola, are the people behind the podcast: Beyond Common Business Secrets. We began networking in '22 when I became a fan of this business advice podcast. In fact, I have been a guest on their program and had a great experience there. As a four-time # 1 International Bestselling Author Speaker and Business Success Strategist, Tracey cuts through the fluff and asks the hard questions helping business owners get the support they need to reach their goals. "I help business owners, just like you, get the clarity and focus they need to untangle what is not working in their business", is how Tracey explains it.
Often called the Clarity Ninja, Tracey says: "I have a ton of energy and never drink coffee, just tea and lots of water. I can get so focused in on a conversation that it’s like the rest of the world has stopped and my natural curiosity guides the way. World of Podcasting - Interview

Q: When did you get the idea to launch your own show?

I have been speaking on stage and teaching everything I learn as I go since I was 18 years old and almost every time one of the questions from the audience is do you have a radio show or podcast? I could listen to you all day, where can I learn more?

One day I said yeah why don't I have a book or a podcast. This eventually lead to me writing my first book Beyond Common 12 Essentials for success in life and in the workplace and then starting Beyond Common Business Secrets Podcast

After 20 years of being asked this question 😂 I used to blow it off thinking people were just being nice then I realized I really love teaching in this way and having a podcast feels like something I was born to do and I love it.

Q: How did you start your program?

Making every mistake imaginable. So many hard lessons and expensive mistakes that once I figured out what to do and how to grow a successful business I didn't want anyone else to suffer the way I did, in the beginning, crying alone in my laundry room.

Once I figured out the formula for growing a profitable business while still having time to have a life you love I could not keep it to myself. I had to share and help other creative business owners. If you aren't dialling the right phone number you will never reach who you are trying to call.

You must do things in the right order to achieve profitability in your business while still having freedom and feeling successful and fulfilled in other areas of your life.

Q: Why does this project matter to you?

I have a calling on my heart to change that to help 10 million female business owners and entrepreneurs break through that old limiting belief and crash through that glass ceiling of earning potential. I do not want any other female business owners sacrificing their health or feeling unworthy of making the money they deserve.

Did you know that less than 2% of female business owners ever
break $1 million in revenue?

Q: What is your favorite task involved with your podcast?

Talking with guests and learning about what they do. I am by nature one of the most curious people you will ever meet so asking lots of questions comes very natural to me.

Q: Did you have someone help you design the site or landing page(s)?

I love that kinda stuff. It is like a graphic art project for me so I do this and I teach other business owners who struggle with the tech how to simplify it or how to hire the right help and support so you don't get burned.

Q:  How do you manage content?

We create a lot of content every week and re-purpose it everywhere.

We use an app called Click Up to help the team and I move through the process of what needs to get done.

Q: How much time do you dedicate to your show?

4 - 5 hours per week research, content prep, recording, and then sharing.
I outsource everything else to my team now so that is good. Edits audio quality and uploading is much better now that we have qualified professionals on our team doing that stuff. 😂 😂 when I was doing this it was not good it was joke and it took forever 😂 😂

Q: Are there mentors that you look up to?

I think Lewis House has done a great job with his podcast School of Greatness and I love how he features guests that inspire him and who he loves learning from. I guess now that I think about it that is exactly what I do. I learn from every guest what the truth behind the scenes secrets are to having a beyond common successful business and living an amazing life.

Q: What encouraging advice or problem-solving advice could you offer to others?

  • Don't overthink it.

  • Do it and take action.

  • Find a mentor or coach that has done what you want to do and learn from them.

  • Do not wait your life is meant for living and it is up to you to make the decision to take inspired action as I always say no one is going to do your push-ups for you.

  • It is up to you.

Q: What are some common mistakes hosts make, and how can they remedy them?

Do not let other people tell you what to do if they have not already done it. So many people are giving free advice about things they know nothing about. Anyone can say they are an expert, but those of us who are true teachers who want to empower others know we are lifelong learners and we will never know everything so we keep learning and sharing what has worked for us and what has not.

Q: How do you go about improving your skills?

Find the person who has already done what you want to do and ask them for help.

Hire them to coach and train you, or read their books and listen to their podcasts if you are just starting out and that is all you can afford.

Do not try to go it alone you will waste far to much time which will cost you far more than you could ever spend on the most expensive coaches and teachers.

Investing in yourself is always a good idea no matter what and people who pay usually pay attention.

Q: Do you utilize any special equipment or depend on certain apps, or resources that you rely on?
