And during these trips I noticed some wonderful things. One day we were driving along a highway that ran through Nelson, a city in the Kootenay region of BC, and I noticed this woman was walking along the highway with a plastic bag strung on her arm like a purse. Occasionally, she would stop to pick up a piece of garbage by the curb or on the sidewalk area.
