The country has such an efficient system in place that they are able to import waste from the UK, Italy, Norway and Ireland! About 50% of the waste is sorted taking out anything that can be reused and recycled i.e. electronics, glass, food, returnable beverage containers (about 1.5 billion bottles and cans) and paper.
