In this talk he enthusiastically shouts: “ We will beat this thing !” I was excited to learn these stats: Best projections in 2000, 16 years ago, was that wind energy would reach 30 GW by 2010, yet by 2015 that number was exceeded by a factor of 14.5 times. We see an exponential upward curve in wind installations, downward curve in costs. Energy storage technology advancements are increasing, while costs are decreasing. Countries like Germany and Scotland are leading the way in solar energy production, while China is restructuring itself for the upcoming population explosion by building high-tech, leading edge eco-communities. The best projections 14 years ago for solar was 1 GW per year by 2010, we are track to beat that by 68 times this year.
