They held an eco-friendly evaluation of universities in Japan and looked for activities both in-house and on the grounds or dorms of each university, including emissions, energy use, resource input, environmental impact, and other areas as well from recycling to land use. The The Mie University won first place for such innovative actions as creating a student point program that acts as an incentive for eco-friendly actions.
