Forests and Water and Humans - Connected Did you know that 50% of US drinking water comes from forests? Forests within the US absorb around 15% of the country’s emissions, and just 2 acres of forests provide the oxygen needed by 500 people. Today, we will focus on just a few organizations that plant trees. Please visit the sites and learn how you can purchase trees in honor of a loved one, as a gift to a friend, as a random act of kindness for to someone who wants to plant trees but can’t. You can volunteer at any of these organizations in a myriad of different ways.
