Feeling Grateful

Having just come out of October which was filled with awareness days celebrating gratitude, peaceful conflict resolution and river/ocean/lake cleanup awareness days - I found myself leaving negative thoughts and stressful feelings aside. I slowed down and began, again, to simply focus on what was in front of me. Now we are heading into November... November being the month of philanthropy, tolerance, health and safety is filled with amazing awareness holidays bringing attention to important issues. What a wonderful month to celebrate the closing of the garden and yard work, slowing down to get cozy and warm!  So with that in mind I want to celebrate just a few, and I mean very few , of the thousands of amazing positive, proactive movements we personally have seen in our little valley and across the globe.  First - let's celebrate the fact that we have one of Canada's largest wildlife refuge that is managed by numerous organizations along with the government.  -- Recommended Resources --  Most of you are already aware that Dave and I donate 10% of the business earnings every year to charities we believe in. Usually Seeds of Diversity, Canadian Wildlife Foundation and whatever local animal shelter needs the most help in our area. We also made a pact to honor anyone that leaves this life that has had a positive impact on us, by gifting to a charity in their honor. Sadly we had 2 valued people pass on this year, and with this in mind we secured an endangered seed variety from ever going extinct through the Seeds of Diversity org ( Seeds.ca ). We also donated to the local bird sanctuary (Creston Wildlife Management - CrestonWildlife.ca ) and pet shelter (PAWS - paws-crestonbc.org  ).  Over the years we've done our best to celebrate and expand the reach of hundreds of other non-profit, charitable organizations that awe us with the work they do.
