Unconditional Love & Solar Power News

-- Quote of the Day --  “I just love cats; my dad was difficult to deal with and I would go out and hang with the cats! (She laughs) …Cats, dogs, gerbils and other animals will just love unconditionally and we all crave that, and can never get enough of it. If you crave love, just go and find a furry friend to take care of and you will find a lot of love. …Visiting Humane organizations and rescue organizations will help you learn about how to take care of feral colonies… start by feeding and getting to know them, …you really need to get right on the trapping and neutering right away – the most effective way of reducing the issues the colony will face.” Rosie Sorenson ~ July 20 2010  Today's quote originates from the Conscious Discussions Talk Radio show interview that aired back on July 20, 2010 titled: Kitty Rescue & Colony Aide   Check it out by clicking on the hyper-linked show title, or locate recently aired Conscious Discussions Talk Radio episodes v...

Another Day in BC...

-- Hazy Day -- It is a hazy day here in our valley... apparently in BC (Canada), which is roughly the size of California, Nevada and Oregon combined, there are over 300 fires going on. Three of which are within a few hours drive from our home city... Kamloops, Litten and I think the Peachland area as well, are all experiencing forest fires and some of this is the cause for the haze here. Luckily we had a couple days of rain in our valley, wetting the mountains thoroughly - hopefully. Sadly, some of the heroes facing the forest management this year have met tragedy. I read yesterday that a water bomber went down and started its own fire, and they had not yet been able to search for survivors due to safety issues. It is so sad - and we want to express our gratitude today here publicly on this blog for the incredible unsung heroes out there who risk life and limb to benefit the planet. They really are amazing, and inspiring.  Interestingly, just recently the city had a parade tha...

Writing News; Volunteering & Alternatives to Violence

-- Book Review --  I am so excited to share a book review that was recently written for our 3rd book by Jill Jepson of Writing the Whirlwind Newsletter ( www.writingthewhirlwind.net ) Purple Snowflake Marketing: How to Make Your Book Stand Out in the Crowd - by Dave and Lillian Brummet   Hope for authors abounds in this superb guide to promoting your book. The numbers are grim. Over 150,000 books make it to the marketplace every year. More than a million volumes vie for attention on bookstore shelves and websites. Publishers promote only a small number of the books they produce. After years of work, authors too often find their work vanishing into obscurity a few weeks after publication--unless they take matters into their own hands.  The problem is that most writers lack the skill, confidence, and know-how to promote themselves. Many dread the work of self-promotion--some are downright phobic about it. Others plunge into their own marketing with mo...

Events & Interviews...

-- Conscious Living Events -- Today, April 22 is both: Earth Day & Administrative Professional’s Day . Administrative Professional’s Day was first put in place back in 1952 when it was used to encourage people to consider secretarial careers. Today it is celebrated world-wide to honor administrative professionals for their often unrecognized contribution to the organization's success. For Earth Day and in fact for Earth Month (April), there are likely a lot of eco-events happening in your community today and throughout this upcoming weekend. Locally we have some interesting alternative energy and energy efficiency workshops going on, and New York City is hosting one of the largest student run events in the world...
