Marketing mistakes

Maintaining our media page is an annual task that has a lot of nostalgia for me. I like to, at this time of year, highlight some of the ones that had an impact on me. I hope you enjoy this one too, where   Brenda, of ASwiftt Radio, asked me:  "Why do you think people Fail when it comes to marketing? "   A lack of tenacity and organization, I think to be a successful author you have to tenacious and passionate. Having a realistic view of the writer's life and put your business hat on. You want to have your succession plans and contingency plans and how you will be marketing this book in a realistic way with your unique situation and break it down into annual and then monthly plans that you can follow. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R76HiB_pmJ8   ~~~   Discover the Brummet's Books on Amazon :  https://www.amazon.com/stores/author/B0845RLK1X  Find Them Online via :  https://taplink.cc/brummet  https://linktr.ee/LillianBrummet ~~...

About this blog...

Brummet's Conscious Blog began back in the day of MySpace - remember when that was the place to be? lol How things change. We moved over to Blogspot.com in 2008, and have been there ever since. Like most authors, the first traditional publisher that we worked with explained how important it was to create a blog - so we began this incredible 17-year journey based on that advice. When Dave and I made the decision to live and work as consciously as possible - this included using the blog as a tool to inspire proactive, positive change in the world. When you browse the blog it is easy to see that this focus, this theme is reflected in the colours we chose, the content we publish, the imagery we use, the types of extra pages we create and what we include in the sidebars. You'll find articles on green living, reducing waste, saving money, writing industry, business and leadership advice, self-help articles, poetry, gardening tips and much more. You'll also find several genre-spe...

Publicity Hacks

Publicity Hacks   *Today's article was submitted by  Stephen Turner - a Principal and owner with Solomon/Turner PR, a public relations and integrated marketing firm in St. Louis, MO. Solomon Turner PR celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2020. The firm has been named One of the Top PR Firms in St. Louis for 12 years in a row by Small Business Monthly. Steve, who has been in the industry for more than 30 years, was named a Rockstar Publicist by Authority Magazine and Thrive Global. Visit him at: https://solomonturner.com One common thread about startups is that most are pressed for time and money. They know they need to establish their brand, but lack the major funding of most established businesses. Many try to muddle through in an attempt to pique the interest of journalists and secure media coverage.  They understand the longer it takes to create name recognition the longer it will take them to build sales and profitability, but they aren't sure how to get the process rol...

musician advice

Why Branding Your Band is Essential  * Written by : Ken Cavalier is a 35-year veteran of the music industry. Beginning his career as a recording & performing artist signed to Warner Bros Records™ he now works in the industry as a music marketing consultant, music branding specialist & publicist for independent artists. His passion for indie musicians is his cornerstone. You can find more information about Ken and his company Allure Media Entertainment Group at http://www.IndieMusicPublicity.com It is interesting to note that most artists and musicians are intimidated with the word 'brand'. Far too few of them have any idea what it means, or what it is, and most importantly how crucial it can be to setting a band apart from all of the thousands of other acts out there. First, let me point out that building your digital brand is not as complicated as you might think. As a matter of fact, it's probably one of the easiest and least expensive forms of marketing y...

Of Writing

-- Quote of the Day --  “One of the most difficult things for me is when I have had to change my writing styles to go with a particular media that I am working with (newspaper or magazine, trade press, or breaking into TV) the styles are all quite a bit different – how you express it in different forms of media. I’ve had to pretty much allow myself to change. …I don’t like to be forced …to change my style, it is pretty painful – but the truth of the matter is adapt or die, it is pretty much a fact. …Challenging yourself is something that as a writer you makes sure that you are doing the best job that you can do.” ~ Jef Benedetti --> Today’s quote originates from the Conscious Discussions Talk Radio episode that aired back on Dec 2… titled: World of Writing  (*Click on the title to access the full discussion)   -- Brummet's In the Media --  I am pleased to announce that I wi...
