Literacy, Equality, Education = Peace

-- Announcement -- Hello to all the blog readers!  Many of you are already aware that I am obligated to take 3-4 days off from the office every single month... it is something I agreed to a  year ago due to being fatigued and stressed out. I have found that I absolutely love my days off! So it is time for another 3-4 days off - I'll be out of the office from this afternoon to the 23rd. All communications will be responded to when I return to the computer :)   I appreciate your patience in this matter, and realize that a few days away from even this blog can result in fewer visits. However while I'm away I hope that you will take the time to follow some of the many links that you'll find here on this blog, and also scroll through the archived posts for some interesting and helpful content. Check out the Conscious Discussion and Authors Read radio show archives when you have time. ...And don't forget to browse our main site as well: www.brummet.ca - where we've d...

Worries, Illusions & Leprechauns

-- Quote of the Day --   “Face your worry and see it as an illusion. It cannot exist unless you give it power and give it life.”  ~ Robert Anthony -- Authors Read Radio -- It is an honor to feature author/illustrator Jeremy McGuire and his intrepid leprechaun today on Authors Read , While his first critically acclaimed book, A Boy and His Leprechaun , focused on seven-year-old Bobby Mahoney's adventures with O'Shaughnessey, the second book is for an older audience and involves the adult Bobby's daughter, twelve-year-old Margaret McNeill Mahoney. Bobby, however, has lost the ability to see leprechauns and is only faintly aware of ever having had it. Join us while we hear Jeremy introduce us to O’Shaughnessey – The Faerie Circle . Writer Interview #21, Gardening & more!

-- Quote of the Day -- "To freely bloom - that is my definition of success."   ~ Gerry Spence -- Chatter -- As many of you are already aware, I have two blogs... this one, and another that I maintain weekly over at MySpace - the later is where I post our schedule so that people can see who's coming on the show that week, guest articles or interviews coming up on this blog, places where Dave or I will be participating in events or appearing in the media and so on. There's a link to this MySpace blog of mine, but to make things easier I'll include one below as well: http://blog.myspace.com/canadianauthor  Yesterday, after slaving away mowing our lawn which had grown to momentous sizes after a week of wet weather, I spontaneously invited a neighbor over for a break. It was quite nice really - and is totally out of character for me to do. I usually stick to myself and our close circle of friends, and with neighbors one doesn't always wa...
