Parenting & Writing

-- Parenting As A Catalyst for Inner Healing -- By Kassandra Brown, mother of 2 and self-employed entrepreneur at http://ParentCoaching.org , where she offers parent coaching by phone.  She is sincerely passionate about making a difference one parent, one child at a time. When asked recently what she does for fun, she responded “ Inner work. I love it when people let me into their inner worlds .” When one first hears the phrase ‘parent coach’ images of a soccer coach with whistle in the mouth telling you to do your parenting push-ups might come to mind. With that image you might think: “Who needs that?” The answer? We all do! Everyone needs someone on his or her parenting team. We would like that person to always be our spouse, friends, parents, and in-laws. Unfortunately those people closest to us are often the ones who drive us craziest. They show us exactly where we’re stuck. And no one shows us our clay feet better than our own chi...

Literacy, Writing

-- Quote of the Day --   “Every day 4 thousand boomers join the ranks of more than 100 million grandparents in the US, grandparents care on a regular basis for about 33% of children under 5 while their mothers are working, 6 % are raising a grand child. …The importance of starting when they are very young is that you are reading aloud to this child, holding the child on your lap… so it creates a sense of intimacy and wellbeing - it becomes a learning experience. …Get down on their level, be actively involved in the story. …Let older children pick the book and then have a discussion about it; so now I’m engaging in an intellectual discussion – it gets her thinking about creative writing, literacy reading, expanding her vocabulary… With today’s technology we have really run out of excuses for not being involved in our grandchildren’s lives. …If you start young and maintain that relationship, when they get to those difficult teenage years hopefully you still have a good en...

Radio and Radio

-- Brummet's In the Media --  I've been invited to drop into the Computers 2k Now online streaming video program today @ 8-9 AM (mountain time) to talk about the technical logistics in running a radio show or blog. It is going to be an informal discussion and there may be other guests and live callers involved. From what I understand, the 3 hour show is hosted by Amnon Nissan of Deltaforce along with his co-hosts Spencer Shoemaker, Mike Phillips, Steve Guessed and/or Bruce Turner. There will be a live chat room happening during the live broadcast and I am under the impression that the show will be made available as an archive for those who wish to catch it later on.  http://www.computers2know.com/live.php If that link doesn't work for you go to the main page for the station (below) and click on the link for "channels", choose the Computers 2K Now program.  http://nissancommunications.com -- Conscious Discussions Talk Radio --  * Airs live @ ...

reducing fuel consumption

Brian Madden, SEO Strategist for Crown Oil Co. dropped in to offer some information on a new technology that helps vehicles reduce the amount of pollutants in the environment.  -- Reducing Fuel Consumption --   If you drive a Heavy Goods Vehicle (a.k.a. HGV – primarily used in the haulage industry) there is a good chance that you have heard of, or need to use AdBlue . It became widespread in 2006 when a law was passed requiring vehicle manufacturers to reduce the amount of pollutants in the environment. AdBlue is used in a process called SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction), which reduces the amount of toxins released from burning fuel. AdBlue is the term used globally for an additive established for the biochemical and motoring divisions. It’s an exceedingly high cleanliness, 32.5% aqueous solution of urea (minimum 31.8% - maximum 33.3%) that converts nitrogen oxides into nitrogen (N2) and aquatic vapor (H2O) by means of biochemical reduction. ...

of Organics & Disabilities

-- Quote of the Day --  “ …The Internet is a wonderful resource – but there is a lot of nonsense as well. You can do searches and find discussion boards, where you can describe what you are dealing with – they can often tell you not only what a doctor should be looking for but they may be able to refer you to a specialist near you. …We are talking about a relationship with the parent and the child. Accomplishing something will take an immense amount of effort, of sacrifice in trying to help. And there is this potential for this sense of masochism of sorts – where you are thinking ‘I won’t be happy until I accomplish this’. …Making the mistake of seeing your son as some kind of problem – don’t forget to be his daddy. …When someone is in great fear or pain, distractions don’t always work so well but it helps to know that someone loves you and is there for you . ” ~ Stephen Gallup Today’s quote originatesfrom the Conscious Discussions Talk Radio episod...
