Radio Interviews

-- Quote of the Day --  “It all boils down to service – how can I serve, how can I take what I have been given and impact someone else because it has a ripple effect, even the smallest movement of what we do has incredible repercussions and we often forget that. …Intellectual Capital is our greatest prosperity – it is the capital from our life experience and everything we have learned in our lifetimes, the idea – that idea that changes the world. …Money is just one form of the circulation of energy. What is your dream? What is your mission here?  …So we need to have a very clear conscious intent in how we are spending what we have been given… all our time, all our money, all our resources. What you care about – put your resources behind that. …If we would each just pick one thing and back up what we say we care about with our time, money, resources. How are you spending your resources that are not in alignment with what you say is your highest va...

Each "small" action creates positive change

I’ve heard several people speak about the futility of their participation because the issues on this earth are just too large for one person’s small actions to make a difference. Interestingly their communication of this frustration led to my wanting to address this on our blog today – which ironically shows that they do make a difference after all.  The Earth is a finite planet and we are learning now that the human population is indeed having a negative impact on the health of the planet and that we can indeed reverse that trend in a variety of ways. But rather than address the entire population and all the problematic issues facing the planet, I’m going to focus on the individual for one moment. There are lots of easily accomplished actions we can make every day… in fact we’ve done lots of posts on our blog and discussions on our radio show highlighting many small actions that have a large impact that you might want to scroll back and view or listen to. ...

Writers Advice - Reviews, Part 2

Over a 2 week time frame I'm offering some interesting and helpful information for writers in regards to obtaining and managing reviews of their work in a 3 part series... today is the 2nd installment. Find the first installment via the September 9th post - http://consciousdiscussions.blogspot.com/2013/09/writers-advice-reviews-part-1.html What Happens to the Review Copy? Most reviewers are not paid for their work. Only a few hard working reviewers are privileged to land a paying position for a publication or online site. Therefore, the book is the payment. Some authors find this worrisome. They are concerned that the reviewer will sell or exchange the book at a used bookstore. It is our opinion that if someone has spent several evenings reading our book, then several more hours writing a review, publishing it, then giving it to us for free and sometimes posting it online for us… well, they can do what they like with our book! When ...

Xenon & LED Lighting

The Miracle of Xenon and LED Bulbs The entry of xenon and LED bulbs is really a miracle – a revolution in the world of lighting. The bulbs last longer and rarely need to be replaced. The vision from these bulbs is clearer as compared with that from halogen bulbs; the wattage use is the same. These bulbs can project any of the rainbow colors and are being used in practically all the latest gadgets. It has started to edge out incandescent bulbs as well as the fluorescent variety of lamps. In function together with aesthetics xenon and LED bulbs have brought about a revolution for greening the planet. Voltage consumption is low and the bulbs do not emit much heat, and they are recyclable. These bulbs are narrower in focus and brighter than the CFL bulbs. Research is going on in full swing. In the near future the bulbs will become considerably cheaper.   Xenon, a chemical compound - actually a gas - that is colorless, quite heavy and odorless. Its symbol ...
