The Curling Leaf Artisan Tea: I love that our small city has so many entrepreneurs who run small businesses offering unique services and products that highlight the amazing agricultural aspects of this valley. One of these businesses is The Curling Leaf , which offers various herbal loose-leaf tea mixes. (This is actually one of two loose-leaf tea companies - that I know of - that are based here in the Creston valley ). Apparently it is pronounced “roy-boss” and means ‘red bush’. The plant ...

Greening the World

-- Quote of the Day --    “I realized that there is a connection with sustainability, we all need an economy and jobs but there has to be a way to do this sustainably …working with consumers to bridge the gap and this begins with education, understanding what the issues really are and hopefully solving them together. …Everyone, in the careers that they have, should realize that there is a difference that could be made – there is always a contribution to be made. …If you are a writer you can infuse the positive message you believe in, you can get involved in trash pick up events as a volunteer, and so on. …[Climate Counts created a] score card that dug into the deep details that shows how big business were doing to measure their green house emissions, their strategy to reduce those emissions, and how well they are reporting in a coherent manner to the public, and finally – are the companies taking a policy stance. …We want to highlight the companies t...
