-- Health Benefits of Pets --   * Today's article was written by Genie Fletcher Pets are not just entertaining companions. They can also contribute to better health. Owning one involves a number of activities and natural processes that affect the physical, mental and social health in their human owners.  Here are just a few of the known health benefits: 1 - Lowers Blood Pressure Multiple studies indicate that petting an animal can lower blood pressure. This reaction can have significant implications for people with high blood pressure. Having a pet, along with appropriate medication, can provide sufficient blood pressure lowering effects to protect them from heart disease and stroke. 2 - Pets Are Social Magnets Pets are magnets for social interaction. They are natural conversation starters and can be a shared interest between animal lovers. This easy ability to make new friends can help both your mental and physical health. It can even i...

how is your temperament?

Temperament – In Life and At Work * Today's article was written by Douglas Rugh, who invites our readers to   find extensive information on his website: http://www.douglasrugh.com Free will can carry us far but not infinitely beyond our genetic limits. We can stretch ourselves like a rubber band can stretch, but only so much. It's like Stephen King is never going to be Stephen Colbert, no matter how much he polishes his comic delivery, and Stephen Colbert can never be Stephen King, no matter how much time he spends alone writing. A person's preference for stimulation turns out to be a definitional characteristic, and once you realize your own preferences, you can begin to intentionally situate yourself in environments favorable to your own temperament-neither over-stimulating nor under-stimulating, neither boring nor stressful. By attending to the range of preferences in your and your family's life, you can tap into increased energy and satisfaction. ...

Product Review

-- Product Review --   I discussed this review project on April 6 th – 8 th with 180cosmetics.com e-commerce manager -  Ayala Solzi-Tretman, and it arrived in the mail on April 21. Instructions are : “ apply several drops to the face gently massaging in circular motions. Wait until fully absorbed before applying facial cream or makeup. Use twice daily, morning and night.” Avoid contact with the eyes.  Ingredients include: mineral water, hyaluronic acid, Magnesium Ascorbil Phosphate (the most powerful and stable Vit. C.), sorbic acid, benzyl alcohol – a preservative, apparently.    I was actually surprised to see alcohol listed in the ingredients and usually vit. C is a preservative so I’m not sure why this was added as well… of course they have their reasons, I am sure. But this ingredient is eco-certified for fair trade and sustainable resources. I looked this ingredient up on Wikipedia and it says that it i...

She invites you to visit her at her site: www.PaulaYoumellRN.com Q: Who inspired you to pursue a career in writing? A: This is a who and a what question: Who inspired me are the people I work with one on one and in classes. I tended to be “teaching” the same basic things over and over. I decided to put this information in a book so I had a health and healing handbook to share with people. The what part is my intense desire to help and support people to realize they are the ones in control of their health and healing. I figured if I had a book about self-responsibility in healing I could reach more people faster. Q: How does writing help you...

Product review

-- Product Review --  I have always loved the sound of the Spanish language and often said that if I was capable of learning a language, beyond English and a little sign language, it would be Spanish. Well, I finally got my chance! I was thrilled to learn of the opportunity to review Erin Sieber’s new book – Learn Spanish The Gringa Way – The Easiest Way For English Speakers To Learn Spanish . The book is written specifically for Americans who can learn to translate their thoughts and every-day sentences into grammatically correct Spanish on their own – without teachers, classrooms and tests. Erin, herself, is actually from a small city in  Maryland (US) where few people spoke Spanish, but having stumbled upon it in high school this woman grew to adore the language and it led her to many an adventure including living abroad in Spain and years of formal language schooling, and writing for Spanish newspapers. Whenever I check ...
