Brummet's Conscious Blog

Media Appearance It is such a pleasure to announce that my book of poetry, Towards Understanding , was featured over on this site, below, where they shared a poetry excerpt: Somewhere Down Deep Below .  This poem speaks of the inner turmoil young victims endure, the silent screaming, the numerous protective walls they built - ones that keep everything out, not just anything potentially harmful.  For those who have been through abuse, feeling anything is harmful. So this poem shares what it feels like to open oneself up to vulnerability, allowing love into their lives. There's this sense of victory, and then a huge sense of fear, and a sense of exhaustion - knowing there is so much inner work yet to be done.  https://ashwinishenoy.com/2022/04/13/somewhere-down-deep-below-poem-by-lillian-brummet http://amazon.com/author/lillianbrummet ~~~   Discover Our Books on Amazon : https://amazon.com/author/lillianbrummet   Find us online via these landing pages:...

Poetry Time Forever Changed © 2014 Dave and Lillian Brummet excerpted from the book Rhythm & Rhyme Poet Lillian Brummet explains: " This poem was written in Dec. ’11 after a strange dream - once I woke, scrambling for a pen, I began struggling to catch the essence of the dream in this brief poem. ...I chose this poem today because this is our wedding anniversary, and I thought it would be a great way to celebrate our 32 years together so far. ...Love you, Dave! " Young lad shuffles on cobblestone path Skipping stones across fields of gold Eyes focused on the sky Where scenes of wondrous dreams Float past like thunderclouds While carriages clatter by. …just by chance their eyes met And he knew – she was the one He – in torn pants Sun sweat soaked field clothes She – sparkled like sun on water The moment passed before the eye could blink Yet his life – forever changed. And she – couldn’t breathe. http://amazon.com/author/lillianbrummet ~~~   Discover Our Books on Amazon : h...
