Poetry Time

Poetry Time This poem is excerpted from the Towards Understanding book within the Playing In The Sandbox Of Words poetry series. The reason why I like this one so much is that it speaks to me of changing one's perspective, becoming OK with one's self and to embrace life without the distractions of distant and hazy desires.  It also warns us that if we become distracted or obsessed then our personal life is jeopardized.  I wrote this - believe it or not - when I was 18, and it only went through one edit.  It has since been published in quite a few magazines, e-zines, newsletters... and won a couple of awards from poetry organizations.  It is, of course, also in the book - T owards Understanding .  WOMEN'S JEALOUSY The girl in white lace and shiny grey stockings, Attacks every man with her nightmarish taunting. Her beauty is rare, her movements are sure. Her casual flirting leaves minds in a blur. Women both hate her and dote on her too. They wish they could be ...

Make The First Move

Make The First Move * Today's article was submitted by our monthly contributor Elise Smith (a.k.a Sheila) who has several books available on  Amazon . Elise invites our readers to reach out to her via  FaceBook . Today, she explains how our mindset can impact every goal we have. We have to make the first move. As long as we stand around on the edge of things, unprepared to jump in, the universe seems to take the attitude:  “ Well, you don’t seem very serious about this. Once you’re committed, then you’ll get some help. ” The moment we decide:  “ I’ll do this thing, no matter what! ”  ...we somehow tap into the genius, power and magic around us. Everybody who achieves in life, makes decisions to do so.   They say:  “ I WILL do it. ”   Those who proclaim: “ I’ll give it my best shot,”  “I’ll have a go”  “I’ll try”  ...will likely come home early.  We need to get serious if we hope to get results. It is best that we als...

quote of the day

Quote of the Day ©BrummetMedia.ca "The most important thing for me is to have a general feeling that I used the time I was given to create a positive legacy… be it through writing, supporting others, donating, sharing garden harvests, greening our property and making a more eco-friendly home, or daily actions such as dedicated recycling… and so on. Part of being conscious includes self-sufficiency – not being reliant on aid programs, or living in heavy debt to others, looking after one’s health the best one can, etc. So I try to live proactively in my home life, but also in business – with the idea that what I choose to do now will have a ripple effect on the direction our world takes tomorrow. What I choose to buy now, whether I grow organically, what I choose to write about and blog about… this all has an impact on tomorrow." ~ Lillian Brummet ~~~   Discover Our Books on Amazon :  https://amazon.com/author/lillianbrummet  Find us online via these landi...
