The  Recommended Resources  series has been published on this blog since we transferred it from the  Brummet's Muse  biweekly newsletter that ran for 6 years or so. When we closed it down, we decided that sharing resources was just too awesome not to continue. With this series, Dave and I have the pleasure of sharing some great resources which can include - positive impact organizations and events, citizen science projects and links to helpful articles.  Feel free to check out their websites, and perhaps send them a note of appreciation for what they do. It would, of course, be fantastic if you see a way to network with them or get involved some how, or possibly share their information with your networks. Soles4Souls  is a Nashville-based charity. Since their founding in 2004, they’ve distributed over 53 million shoes to people in need in all 50 states of the US and 127 countries worldwide.  https://soles4souls.org Dress for Success  is a nonprofi...

Contributing and Benefitting Part 1 After moving to the Kootenay Region of BC (Canada) and opening our business here, we knew that while we may not always have the budget to donate or time to volunteer, there were many other ways we could contribute to this amazing community and beautiful valley that we now call home. We soon connected with the Therapeutic Action Program - which helps people with difficulties, and seniors, in a variety of ways. They host an annual silent auction fundraiser that we have been contributing drums, books, products, and gift certificates on a semi-annual basis. That positive experience keeps us involved with community events today. When From One Small Garden - Over 300 Delicious Nutritious Recipes  came out we connected with Creston Valley Food Action Coalition who used our cookbook as a fundraiser at their Farmers Market Info Booth that summer, and purchased a number of copies (at a 25% discount) for several of their classes (4-6 people per class an...
