Today, I'd like to focus on the incredible advancements in green energy, starting with a shout out to:
“Fujitsu Ltd., a major Japanese information
technology equipment and services provider, released its Fujitsu Group
Environmental Report 2016 on August 9, 2016. In fiscal 2015, the provision of
information and communication technologies (ICT) allowed Fujitsu to reduce its
greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by approximately 40 million tons." - source: Japanfs.org
- You may have read here on the blog about all kinds of new solar technologies including those that can be used as roadways, replacing asphalt. Many places have trialled these roads, testing them for wear and weather and more. I am pleased to hear that France has opened a one kilometer patch of road containing 2,880 solar panels - which is expected to produce enough electricity to power street lighting in the village (3,400 citizens).
- The Netherlands has now created enough wind energy to power all their electric trains.
- A solar plant in the Moroccan desert (Africa) is expected to generate enough power to become energy independent, enabling to do things like pump water to isolated farmers. The continent has the potential to supply energy to other countries as well, once all the planned solar phases have been installed.
- India opened the world's largest solar farm - and they also installed a chemicals plant that uses C02 to make baking powder.
- Scotland is also becoming a world leader in their investment in the infrastructure necessary for taking advantage of solar energy.
Wow what a Great Information about World Day its exceptionally pleasant educational post. a debt of gratitude is in order for the post.
