-- Recommended Resources --

Today's batch of resources are all in the genre of Literature - the importance of everyone to tell their story, the amazing advances in book production, and how Internet users can help digitalize millions of books and learn languages for free.

Software developer Mike Matas demos the first full-length interactive book for the iPad — with clever, swipeable video and graphics and some very cool data visualizations to play with. The book is "Our Choice," Al Gore's sequel to "An Inconvenient Truth."

After re-purposing CAPTCHA so each human-typed response helps digitize books, Luis von Ahn wondered how else to use small contributions by many on the Internet for greater good. In this talk, he shares how his ambitious new project, Duolingo, will help millions learn a new language while translating the Web quickly and accurately — all for free.

This next talk is very emotional, at least for me, and shows the importance of not only following your dream but also knowing deep in your heart that every person has a story to tell. Author Lidia Yuknavitch tells us "Even at the moment of your failure, you are beautiful; you don't know it yet, but you have the ability to reinvent yourself endlessly. That is your beauty."
