Several years ago I was a guest on the Follow Your Passion Podcast but recently I was inspired to listen to it again.
This particular quote from the interview (below) struck me as being of interest to you as well.

"In the past, I had always turned to writing to vent emotions in a way that I felt was very private, I didn’t have to share with other people, but I could always be really honest about on paper.
Paper and I, pen and I, have always gotten along very well. So it was easy for me to turn to writing when it came to looking for solace.
The writing itself, and the direction I wanted to take my writing - where it would be making a positive difference - pointed me in a direction that fed me with all these amazing people out there in the world.
It showed me that the world is not such a dark place. That there is an incredible amount of love and proactive activity -unsung- going on out there every single day …and all we have to do is open our eyes and become aware of it.
So - using my writing, my radio show or podcast in the past, or my blogs today; using everything that we can to highlight this amazing activity that is going on in the world is such an amazing and fulfilling for me.
It staves off the darkness. "
