Positive News

Friends of Kootenay Lake Stewardship Society's newsletter celebrated this outstanding achievement recently:

The 2025 field season marked another year of steady, science-guided progress in the Harrop wetland.

Throughout the season, eight restoration events were held in the Harrop wetland with the support of 51 dedicated volunteers, alongside engagement from numerous Harrop–Procter community members.

This broad participation reflects the local stewardship ethic that continues to guide restoration work in the area.

Thanks to a generous grant from Harrop Procter Watershed Protection Society and other funders (see below), we look forward to more good work in the new year.

Friends of Kootenay Lake Stewardship Society managed approximately 1,200 m² of invasive species in the Harrop wetland in 2025, representing a significant step forward in restoring ecological balance and resilience.
