Media Appearance I was recently a guest on the Caregiver Cast podcast, a service provided through the   Caregiver Lifeline Community . Host Mary Petrucci and I had an incredibly powerful & healing, in-depth and brutally honest conversation about caregiving & grief. We speak about the echoes of guilt, the exhaustion... we offer tips and discuss the benefits of delegating.  * Note : During this discussion when we touched on being OK with delegating I wanted to clarify one thing here. ...If you are going to delegate, be sure to do so only when someone asks you how they might help ....and always thank them, sharing how it helped you. Avoid repeatedly relying on someone possibly weighing them down, allow them to ask if they can help again and then share some ways they might do so. :) https://caregivercast.libsyn.com/grieving-while-caregiving-w-lillian-brummet   ~~~   Discover Our Books on Amazon :  ~~~   Discover Our Books on Amazon :  ht...

Yet Allen Klein is here to tell us that in the face of the devastation humor becomes a vital tool, helping us put the pain in perspective and realize that life can and will go on. Allen too has experienced much grief in his life including the loss of his wife. Hospice & Health Care

-- Quote of the Day -- " Life is fleeting. But if you live your life in hope, Hope that you can make a difference somehow Then your life will last forever And you will never be forgotten ." ~ Samuel Adams  -- Conscious Discussions Talk Radio Show --   Today’s show will contain information that every single one of us will need at some point in our lives. We all must face it – death, illness… it happens to family members, friends, spouses – and ourselves. But so few of us are equipped emotionally or even have the knowledge to handle these situations. E-waste & Website News

-- Chatter -- Well, it is that time again - the doors to the office will be closed today, and will remain closed until Sunday. As many of you are already aware, Dave and I take 3-4 days off from the office every month - we do this for our own sanity. You see, a home office never goes away - it is there 24/7 and emails roll in every minute of the day. So for our own sanity and peace of mind, we have made a pact to each other to take this time away every month. I'll be sharing a lot of information today, in hopes that it will be enough content to satisfy our readers while we take this time away from the office :)   You'll find our site changes - www.brummet.ca - are nearly completed; we'll be able to do the final touch ups, affiliate info and a few new pages, and more in a few days... having it completely revamped and finished by Sept 1st, as promised. In the meantime, do scroll through the site to see what we've done with it so far. Check out Dave's Portfolio p...

Authors Read's Featured Guest & Celebrating Household Managers

-- Celebrating Household Managers - Society has grown so 'advanced' that we look down on those of us who choose to be nurturing Household Managers. Somehow this work force is seen as slothful folks who live off the work of others, or are incompetent in the workplace altogether. Society then contradicts itself by acknowledging the growing strain on the medical, policing and financial support systems due to increased stress, pollution and poor nutrition in today's civilized world. Worried politicians view our ever-growing need to import food as a potential disaster in the event of worldly catastrophes - and scientists tell us their numbers indicate we are actually overdue for a catastrophe. Society will 'tsk-tsk' at the children who have been raised by non-family members (including televisions and computers), because no one has the energy or the time to raise them properly. We have the audacity to be bewildered at the drop out rate in our cold and sterile public sch...
